Hey guys, former bronze 5 player, here to help anyone stuck in bronze learn more from playing against bots. So, if you were like me a couple months back, you noticed something about your teammates:

So, what really helped me was playing on an all beginner bot team including myself vs. an all intermediate bot team. Why are mid laners so useless?

Excluding Yasuo and Zed, no midlaner can really do anything late game. They bring nothing to the table.

I main mid, because I find the characters fun, but it bugs me just how weak they are at doing practically anything.

I usually be Viktor/Lissandra/Syndra/Cassiopeia, and a few others, but they can't carry a team or kill anything to save their life, literally.

They can only get kills if the enemy is at 3/4 or half health, and even then you're lucky if you don't die trying to kill them. They mostly just poke and harass, and that's all they can do.

The only mid laner I've been that can actually bring killing power to the team is Ekko, and that's only really if I'm fed.

Do mid laners need a buff, or are they working as intended? Top laners, adc, and jungle can all get killing spree's and carry, but why not mid? Do i just suck at the game, or is it dependent on the champion you're being?

I was Bronze 5 beginning of this season and made it to Gold V. Just realize everyone except yourself (actually probably yourself included) is a retard and only play hyper carries. Your top and team needs a tank? Simple. Don't play one. Just play Riven or Fiora or something like that and win lane and try to snowball a lead as fast as possible because your team WILL feed before you get a chance to even react.

I've been playing a lot of Gnar and I feel super comfortable with him, been building him as an off tank with usually my only offense items being Black Cleaver and/or Frozen Mallet. Despite my low damage I've been doing great with this build since his base stats are amazing. I was wondering if Ghostblade or Death Dance would be good on him now and try to make him more into a classic bruiser/fighter, thoughts? I also know his W passive is magic and not physical which is needed for Deaths Dance.

But how do I improve, if that's the case? My usual build is trying to stack as much AP as possible, but it's never enough it seems. I'm not trying to say I want to make #lcsbigplays but I at least want to feel like I can hold my own. Do i need to try to snowball in lane? I usually play pretty defensively in lane and run teleport and flash, because my lane opponent always does way more damage than me in trades, most of the time, so I spend my time poking and farming. The only mid lane champ I've been that can actually do that is Cass, and that's only extremely late into the game when her passive is maxed.

You need to get to the point where farming and dodging dodgable enemy poke requires minimal focus and effort so you can focus on controlling the wave, looking at events across the map and poking your enemy in way that makes them lose cs. If you have tp you should constantly look at botlane and adjust your backing, pushing and trading in a way, that you can recall, tp behind the enemy bot, get a kill or at least an assist, recall, go back to lane and only miss a wave.
Or push out your lane, walk down to bot get a kill/assist push bot and tp back to lane.
Playing defensive will not get you in a position to carry a feeding team. If your team is doing alright and you only need to be useful, sure go ahead stay safe and afk farm, you'll be useful eventually, but you can't expect your team to always be relevant. You have to outfarm and outlevel the enemy mid, and put pressure on other lanes, to get your lanes ahead/back in the game. Unless you're able to do this every single game, you'll lose a lot of games.
So keep practicing csing and baiting out enemy spells, denying them cs etc. The first step is to lane better than your opponent in every single aspect, the rest will come as a result of that.

His itemization is really strong now so it spills over to jungle jax. He's still a better laner. Devourer is good on him, but Devourer itself is not the greatest match to the current metagame.

That said, if you like Jungle Jax go for it. He's probably at peak power right now.
