Yes. It's best if you do it as early as you can as well. The Kyuubi chapter is generally best since you can get Marbled Beef to make it a little easier

This was my team at the end of the game, what do you guys think (sorry for shitty cropping, mobile and 4MB limit)? I know I'll at least switch Kyubi in there when I get the chance. (Actual endgame spoiler: I feel like they could've expanded on Lucas a bit more, he doesn't seem to be really phased about his family situation. Without spoiling directly, do they ever explain this or the Yo-kai coming back thing (not bad IMO, just a bit confusing) better in YW2?

Cupistol and Casanuva already have built-in guns; Cupancho and Blondie would hide said gun-hands under their panchos until needed(They're essentially Western recolors of Cupistol and Casanuva).

Inspirit would be "Mexican Standoff" either causing opponents to sometimes skip their turn(like Sleep). It would probably make someone a charismatic bluffer, but one who doesn't actually take action.

Yo-Cam is like the best way to farm coins. All the "find x-color demon" challenges give coins. Once you find the dates that give those challenges, you can just switch between them for coins. I personally just used my high school yearbook to complete the challenges. The demons associated with each face are fairly consistent so I just make notes on a piece of paper to facilitate my grinding. Get like a coin every minute or so.

PvP has people using his technique more so than physical attack. The Mysterious spirit boost along with his buff makes his soultimate hit hard. Super hard. Almost enough to 1-hit KO Onis in battle.

Yeah, it's called "Sticker of Hate" The downside is that it does lower defense stat by like 38 points or so. I forgot where I got it from, but some guide said it's a reward for doing quest or buying it from Whatta Find.

Well, turns out I misinterpreted the item. Apparently this thing scales with the defense stat. I got a bit confused since I put this thing on my Walldin who has a pretty high defense stat on my current team. Just leveled him up and the item now decreased it by 39. Then I just decided to equip it on my other members and it does varies. Guess it does kinda suck depending on whom you wanted it on.

I did try that before when facing Snartle, but shit got hairy after a while, mostly after he used his Soulitmate, he got a lucky kill or 2 and then raped my face in. I'm curious if I should continue training to face him before I progress in the story or just forget him.

Just check, 25% of your defense stat. It cut my Castelius MAX 's 267 defense down to a mere 200. Well a tanker would be useless without it, so can't exactly complain. I just wish the yokai will defend more. They don't even defend like 20% of the time even with a Calm nature.

He can be defeated recruited, but his difficulty increases the further you get into the game. There's a recommendation to befriend him sometime before or after Kyubi's chapter, since trying to fight him post-game is insane.

I got myself a Chummer to take most of the blows (soultimate boosts defense and makes him the center of attention), Betterfly to heal him, and Benkei for DPS.

The problem is that his recruitment rate is about the same as any other yo-kai: high levels of bullshit. Get 3 pieces of marbled meat and save before trying. If you don't get him after said pieces, soft reset and try again until he befriends you.

Yes he can, took me about 20 tries though. He gets harder the higher your watch rank is, so it's advisable to get him early and he will be your best friend all the way to end-game. It is generally advisable to never let your yokai die against him, as he gets a buff that stacks for every kill he gets.

That boss is a right pain in the ass too. You have to hit the correct fire thing around him so he doesn't trigger enter rage mode, but if you get the wrong one he whacks you back for half your yokai's health. and he keeps spinning it so you have to guess which one is the correct one by trial and error. Apparently, one of the wisps is different from the others. The location of his weakpoint will never change from throughout the battle (but it is randomize on which one it is at the start), he just turns it around to make it look like it changed, so use the different wisp as a marker each time to see where is his weakspot.

Here's something that was posted in the threads before the general began.

3) Stat System "features" (note that standard level is 60):
"IVs": Variance is small and your rolls will tend to be stable, with "extreme" rolls - and by that I mean like 5 more/less than the average - being relatively rare. Stat totals will be extremely stable because the game has max/min "IV" totals.
Natures: Every time you gain exp, you get hidden points towards a stat or stats depending on your nature. Yo-Kai will usually come with a decent nature. Nature also decides your Yo-Kai's AI, but I've tested it and you can use one nature for stat growth and then switch to the one you want for its AI.

And when fusing two Yo-Kai it will do some averaging magic to maintain a total of 26-sh or lower across the board.

Training: Each Yo-Kai can be trained at a certain facility up to 5 times. You can choose between:
+5 Attack, -2 Defense
+5 Defense, -2 Speed
+5 Spirit Power, -2 Speed
+5 Speed, -2 Defense
You can also reset your Yo-Kai's training at will.
There's also equipment of course. You can turn a Yo-Kai medal into a soul, which you can level up by feeding it other souls. You can also fuse certain ones into souls that basically have an ability's affect with no level. Souls will generally either give your Yo-Kai a stat boost, give them an ability, or enhance their Inspiriting.

A small number of yokai have abilities that heal them when they loaf

For anyone curious about the Yellow Sash.
Find an item called Clenzall (got that from a gachapon) and fuse it with yellow sash to get a heavenly sash. It heals a little health every move any yo-kai makes without the more-likely-to-loaf-off side effect. Pair up that yo-kai with another that also grants heal over time and you got a decent regeneration going on.
