How to build a navy as Italy? Alright, I'm pretty much finished converting over. The only thing I am still considering doing is breaking up Russia because they are obscenely large compared to any other country. I may keep them like that though so they can function as a sort of end-game boss. What do you guys think? Keep in mind I am going to be converting this to Vicky 2.

Russia was formed by the Kievan branch of the Rurikids so releasing Ukraine wouldn't make sense. However, I may release a Novgorod and Muscovy. It would inevitably only slow them down, but I suppose that is something. One thing I've already done is make their eastern territories unaccepted culture pagans.

As for Mongolia, I want to leave Russia or another power some room to colonize.

So, how exactly does one break up an Arab superblob like the Seljuks?

I can defeat them in wars, but Holy Warring each individual duchy they have without incurring that prestige penalty will take forever, plus I'd rather a divided Turk state to manipulate rather than one that is constantly conquering my neighbors.

Are there any V2 mods that let me fuck up a country I'm occupying?
Let's say that it's a Great War, and I'm playing Germany and invading Russia. I'm going to occupy a lot more land than I might take.
So it there any mod that allows me to (for a infamy cost) destroy factories, raze infrastructure, kill pops or otherwise fuck up these areas? War is devastating, on cities and populations.
Victoria II wars often feel like it's just a matter of redrawing borders, or maybe enforcing some nation-wide sanction that doesn't really affect the population.

The Seljuks and Karashar are both vassals of Mongolia, actually. The problem is, even when you combine the development of all of Mongolia and her vassals, its still much less than Russia. Russia is just way too developed compared to Mongolia. The only way to give Mongolia relatively equal power would be to either give them Asian lands (which I don't really want to do as I want a strong China to develop) or to break up Russia. I'm currently contemplating how to do the latter. How does pic related look? (Ignore the periods, I'm using custom nations to make the borders)

The Frankish is not the same as Old Frankish. Instead, its sort of a blended German dialect with a large French influence. Think of it sort of like the German version of English, which was a blend of Anglo-Saxon and Norman. Not a perfect comparison, but that's basically how it is.

As for summaries, well I guess I will start off with the Holy Roman Emperor, Lotharingia. I started off as Count Eudes Karling of Vermandois in 1066. From there, I slowly expanded in France until a major rebellion broke France apart. After I got independence, I joined the HRE. After a few generations, I was elected emperor. After that I expanded to take all of Northern Italy and France. Overall, the HRE didn't change much from OTL other than the inclusion of Northern France.

As for Iberia, the Navarran branch of the Jimenas was able to unite the Catholic kingdoms in Spain. For a while, they had the advantage and nearly kicked the Muslims out of Iberia. However, a Jihad called on by the resurgent Abbasid caliphate was able to defeat the Christians and reclaim most of old Al-Andalus. However, years of Christian rule has left a large majority of the Andalusian population Christian.

Britain happened pretty much spot on to OTL other than the unification of Ireland.

Scandinavia was pretty much in turmoil the whole game of CK2. Initially, Erik the Heathen was able to take the throne of Sweden and briefly establish a norse kingdom. However, they were promptly holy-warred and the kingdom collapsed. Later, Sweden reformed under the Stenkilling dynasty, who would go on to inherit Norway and conquer Finland via holy wars. Denmark was taken by a mix of conquest and inheritance.

In Eastern Europe, the biggest change was in Russia. While Poland and Lithuania remained relatively inactive (the latter converted to Orthodoxy in the 1100's), Russia was united by the Kievan branch of the Rurikid dynasty. A unified Russia proved to be a capable opponent to the later Mongol invasions. *continued

While they were defeated, a large Manichean/Cuman population still resides in the western-most portion of the Mongol Empire.

Finally, in India, the subcontinent was relatively isolated. Islam is completely absent from the subcontinent due to the weakness of Islam, so the religious split is instead between Hindus and Buddhists. Northern India has been consistently divided. Eastern India is for the most part united under the Palas. In the South, there was a brief Deccan Empire under the Kalyani Chalukya dynasty, which promptly fell apart after a few generations. The Kalyanis still possess some power in Central Indian, and the memories of their rule have not been forgotten ((they have cores over most of Southern India)), but larger powers like Maharastra have eclipsed them.

-Southern Italy is controlled by the Italo-Arabic Kingdom of Sicily. Although they speak a mix of Arabic and Italian, they are full blooded Catholics. The kingdom originates from a revolt against Norman rule in the early 12th century.
-The Maghreb is for the most part united under the Almoravid Sultanate. Only Tunisia, which was the target of a minor crusade, is not under their control.
-As stated before, Tunisia, as well as Libya, are under Italian Christian control. The former is under control of the Grand Dukedom of Tuscany while the latter is an independent kingdom ruled by a Italo-Arabic dynasty.
-The Abyssinian Empire under the Zagwe dynasty controls all of Ethiopia and Nubia. Somalia is dominated by the Abbasid caliph.
-Afghanistan is majority Buddhist and has remained independent for several centuries due to its formidable natural defense: mountains.
-Croatia and Serbia united in the 14th century. Serbians are Catholic.
-The Kingdom of Wallachia-Crimea controls most of modern-day Romania as well as Crimea.
-The Apostolic kingdom of Armenia became independent from the Byzantines and Seljuks during the times of the Crusades, but has since then fallen under the sphere of influence of the Byzantine Empire.
-The Kingdom of Georgia is divided between its Southern majority Georgian part and its northern majority Alan part. The Alans, who are orthodox like the Georgians, are seen as relative equals and given positions in Georgian courts.
-Due to major defeats, the Turks remained in Central Asia where they established the Seljuk sultanate of Turkestan.

Perhaps you could try creating another category of reforms (I'm not entirely sure this is possible, but HPM does add that third category of reforms) and adding the reforms you want changed to that category, then changing how ideologies view that new category.

Playing HPM as the US. As soon as I select the Oregon Treaty compromise option, the dialogue window opens indicating the British have accepted for a split second, and then the game immediately crashes. This has happened twice so far.

Only other mod I have loaded is Country Colors.
