it's an additional theme customizer thing nintendo released in japan. It's the only "game/app" you can't run on any non-japanese system at the moment. You can use NTR to run it, but it'll still kick you out once you login with your NNID.

I've had games that don't work quite right on OPL on HDD. Outrun 2006 has some weird glitches were audio doesn't load and then the game crashes. Ace Combat 5 has a little missing audio but no crashes.

No, of course not. Unless you live with 10 cats or something.
It does have a dedicated "dusting mode" when all fans work at max speed for a short time, and it doesn't hurt to do that once in a month or so, but there's nothing extreme. Consult the manual if in doubt.

As for the real maintenance, you'll need to open up the console and replace the thermal paste between CPU/RSX and their heatsink when your PS3 starts thinking it's a fighter jet.
Absolute temperature values (readings only shown on CFW) aren't very informative by default because PS3 keeps them stable by increasing fan speed when it gets dirty.
Keeping the temperatures low helps to prevent YLoD caused by desoldering of overheated CPU/RSX. YLoD is not always fatal, but it's pretty expensive to fix (with reball/reflow).

In my case I have 9.2 sysnand (O3DS) with Themehax autobooting CTR Boot Manager which then autoboots rxTools. However, CTRBM also has an HBL entry.

During startup I hold L after Themehax runs to access CTRBM's selection list and boot into HBL fine.

There's no need for an additional game. Please tell me if I'm wrong and this is not possible on the N3DS.

Install homemenu hax on your n3ds using CN so that you can cold boot it into Reinand by holding L. It saves a lot of time.

Reinand will use your emunand so GW is pointless now unless you really need those .3ds roms.


There's plenty of guides for it on youtube if you get lost. One more thing unlink your nand if you haven't already, it can cause a brick if you update.

I've done it just last week. Prior to that I had no experience with any kind of hardware mod.

The clip works fine to restore a nor dump, no soldering needed, and I had to do it at one point because the guide sucked.
Just gotta make sure you have one. Which is why it's critical you verify your clean dump once you make it.

First of all, be sure you're disassembling the unit right. The disassembly instructions don't flow well into the E3 flasher installation instructions, and some information is inaccurate. For example it said that the NOR chip would sit under the fan unit but on my unit it didn't (turns out as one of the first slims it was one of the most annoying to install a flasher to for a bunch of reasons)

Secondly, the guide is for downgrading. But to downgrade to a clean 3.55, you need an additional dongle. What you do instead is dump your NOR, patch it, and flash it back so you can go straight to the latest CFW.
But the patching tools provided in the guide are for 4.40 OFW or something, and the latest is 4.76. What you need to do is find a tool for 4.70 (works for 4.76 too) and then patch your dump before continuing the guide like normal.

I measured up a setup with my gamecube to an LCD tv to about 9ms to compare, took a wavebird and set it to both the Wii U and the GC and dashdanced... it acted very differently after a few turns... HANS runs Smash on old3ds but due to Smash requiring extra memory mode the character selection screen crashes. However, the trophy gallery loads with no issues. I can't try character smash mods yet on my old3ds (new3ds users CAN) but I can certainly test trophy model replacement and possibly put the removed Tharja trophy back in Smash but it would have to be an artist's re-creation based on images from the leak. alert all the Tharja waifufaggots on /feg/ that there's hope for the 3D model they didnt get

would be interesting if trophy models in Smash could be converted between .obj and back. Then as long as a trophy model could be converted to .obj all it would take is an excellent 3D model artist to recreate the removed leaked Tharja trophy over an existing .obj of a trophy with the bottom part of the trophy intact but the rest edited within the limited spacing of the trophy then converting it back to the format of the trophy model, repacking it in the romfs, testing it with HANS, fixing bugs and trying again, then finalizing it into a universal non-Nintendo code file possibly just the .obj file and the obj2trophy converter tool for using with anyone's romfs dumped from braindump and the mods would be used with HANS. all speculation of course as i have no idea what format trophy models are and where they are in the romfs or even how to convert them to .obj and back or knowing all the programming lol

So I'm using savedatafiler and I backed up my cartridge save to SD, but I'm unsure how to target a digital game with it.
On the SD tab it has import options but whether I choose import save data or import save data to SD card they both error before I can choose a target.

Looking at the SD card I can see this in the directory SD:\filer\UserSaveData\20151110002624
The folder labeled "00000ds8" contains my save data.

Am I supposed to place a rom/cia somewhere in here? Or is there some way I can't figure out to target a digital game when using it on 3ds?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but I can't fucking find any tutorials on this, and the ones I do have stupid user based errors or are people using Gateway.

Hi guys, I had a question regarding PCSX2 save files. I recently ordered a preowned ps2 on ebay and today it arrived. Its a slim model SCPH-77002, free mcboot works fine on it. I already had a free mcboot memory card handy, so I was able to just burn the games I had been playing through an emulator to disk for play on the actual console. My issue is that I have a save file for SMT:Nocturne on my pc that I'd rather not abandon.

Does anyone have any experience in transferring a pcsx2 memory card file into an actual memory card? Google just gives me results to do the opposite (memory card to pcsx2).

I'd rather not start Nocturne for a third time, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can I update my sysNAND from 7.2 to 9.0 - 9.2?
If so, how?

Is it possible to cold boot to emuNAND without using Theme Hax? Or can I use Theme Hax without having themes period? (I'm on 7.2, themes didn't come along until 9.0)

the original shipments came with 8.1 it wasnt until later shipments that the catridges included 9.2

I think I've figured it out. Thanks for letting me know that this was at least possible.

I've grabbed mymc http://www.csclub.uwaterloo.ca:11068/mymc/index.html and gone into the pcsx2 memory card file, grabbed the Nocturne files and placed them on a USB.

Looking at the memory card with uLaunchElf I can see that there are files that surround the actual saves, icons and metadata, all of which are in a specifically named folder for each game, so I'll just go and play nocturne until I can make my first save, then use uLaunchElf to replace the actual save files from the created folder in the mc, and replace them with what I have on the USB.

Wish me luck. If this works hopefully there's a wiki I can contribute to so nobody else has to pull their hair out trying to figure this problem out.
