I think it follows logically from the lore, since it's in the same configuration as the saw cleaver/spear. Supposedly the burial blade is the foundation of all trick weapons, and you can see several similarly-shaped blades hanging both in the church workshop and in the hunter's dream. But that doesn't really explain why there are saws. I think the burial cleaver is the missing link weapon between Gehrman's scythe and the saws which became emblematic of the old workshop. Someone developed a scaled-down version of Gehrman's weapon that would never impede your ability to use a gun, and then later came the realization that serrated weapons are more effective against beasts, leading to the cleaver with serration along the back, and then the spear with serration on both sides.

Yo /bbg/, for my BLT build I dunno whether to go rapier(40/40) or katana(25/50) for BL98? Currently I'm BL80 with 25/40. What's a more fun build to use gunslinger or edgelord?

Fire gives pheonix pyre, air gives mistform and cloud trapeze for mobility, nature gives personal regeneration. But really, an actual SC needs something that can kill an army, which limits you to stuff like soul vortex, firestorm, soul drain, and so on. Of course, a lot of these are hard to cast and knock the caster out, so getting a SC that works and won't die to any number of mages is pretty damn hard.

If you're 25/40 you're already invested far enough into BLT that it's not really worth doing anything else. Get it to 50 and unzip that katana. You can still use Reiter but don't expect to get much damage out of it, for your second slot you're really just hoping that the DLC introduces a new bloodtinge-based trick weapon.

I have over like 400ish hours on Bloodborne and I am missing both the weapon trophies, although I have used all of them on different playthroughs.

I don't just pile all weapons on one character to get trophies. I also do not want to do the Watch Over The Dream ending.

You could probably do 25/25 skl/blt with 30 vit and low end around that level. Your guns won't be as powerful as they could be, though, and neither will your spear. But varied options are underrated when it comes to PvP imo.

The guide is spackled with outdated information and outright misinformation in a few areas, and in some cases simply doesn't have information at all. It doesn't mention visceral attacks scaling with skill, doesn't explain how they're physical damage or what that means for gems, its gem guide is absolutely useless and flat out wrong in all but a select few areas, its weapon guides are surprisingly good but have false info in a couple places like when they tried to say the Reiter's bullet damage changes to elemental when you put an elemental gem in it, the description for the Hunter of Hunter rune mechanics is literally wrong in every way, and a few other things that don't immediately spring to mind.

That said, the maps are indeed super useful and include things like insight and time restricted events, the weapons guide is very good barring a couple of exceptions like Reiter, and the walkthrough part is as good as any.

Those dumbass wheels get +30% more damage against cainhurst type enemies, not to mention most cainhursts are also weak to arcane damage. An executioner would only need to hit a vileblood once or twice to cause serious harm and possibly death, not to mention the Executioners could very well have had access to church magics what with the arcane stats.

It's more like a bunch of armored knights with blood katanas and gun rapiers losing to a squad of fanatical muscle wizards with divine interference.

On the one hand, props for using beast pellets with the wheel. On the other, points deducted for doing it wrong.

The wheel basically flips its stats around in trick mode: physical is reduced by about 1/4th, and arcane is boosted by about x4. Beasthood boosts physical damage, but not arcane damage. So, normally you'd use the wheel's arcane mode to build up the meter really fast, then switch it back to physical mode for grinding and pounding.

And no, that isn't how it works. On a weapon with split damage, flat damage gems are not subject to scaling. They simply add their damage on top at the end of the equation. Formless Oedon lets you carry more bullets, Oedon Writhe gives you bullets for viscerals (if you don't mind doing shit damage), Blood Rapture lets you use viscerals to recover HP spent on blood bullets, Eye lets you find more bullets and vials off corpses, Radiant gems let you regenerate HP between fights for more blood bullets, and remember to always have at least 5 blood bullets before casting anything. This is how you space wizard with slugs.

You don't even need to farm off shape radiants, the hunter NPCs can drop naturals every once in a blue moon. There's a chance their drops are tied to the dungeon glyph though, so if they don't seem to be dropping anything useful try making a different dungeon.

Saw hunter drops radials, cainhurst hunter drops triangles, wheel hunter (isz only) and beast hunter (loran only) drop wanings, there's a ludwig's hunter (with arcane tools) and hammer hunter (with molotovs) who pop up every once in a blue moon too, but I forget what they drop or even where they appear. Might just be isz for the ludwig's, and hammer might be ihyll.

I think it depends on the build. For my 50 BLT build I wiped out the first round of spiders with 2h chikage, and used a beast blood pellet for the half part of them. Then I got my stam back and wailed on rom, he was low so he teleported twice, then I spent the next few minutes running around the arena hiding behind pillars from the spiders/arcane missiles. Popped out every now and again to 360nolockonscope rom with BMA evelyn. Worked for me.

The "Call of Duty" method I guess.

Well, if depth is out of the equation, base ritual costs could probably just be removed entirely, and only materials for secondary rites would be needed. And maybe cut down on the costs of those, like Fetid costs only one head, Rotted costs only one backbone, Cursed costs only one bastard, and sinister costs only 10 haze. Make them rarer to compensate of course, but since you wouldn't need, say, six backbones for a dungeon, finding one becomes a hugely pleasant surprise.
