It's pretty Korean. If you don't like the standard Korean grindfest (albeit, this is a little kinder early on thanks to the exp resets and dungeon spamming)

Bare bones and really rough around the edges and not ready for a release, but I personally enjoy this beta more than other MMOs I could be playing instead. But then I like grinding, so there's bias.

Not that guy, but to be dead honest, the sole reason I went cata over hop2 was for the special effect of the trident. In hindsight, in the final game I will not go cata because I will eventually get a better spear (and spear lunge makes enemies weak to pierce, so there's that).

OOB is fucked hard when it comes to weapons

The difference between a weapon with 128 matt and 27 holy atk
and one with 214 matt

Is a grand total of the weapon with less matt doing about 60 more damage per hit on a boosted OOB attack.

On any other magic attack, including non-boosted OOB, it is about 100 damage weaker.

So for some fucking awful reason, against any enemy, no matter the weaknesses, boosted OOB attacks basically say 'fuck you' to your matt if there is a weapon no matter how much weaker if it has some ele in it

The damage formulas in this game are so fucking dumb

Can anyone objectively explain why memelander is bad in the endgame other than "le korean said so xD"?

So far highlander can do various things:
-high damage skills that hit a lot of targets with good variety of slash and strike type
-guard as well as full con peltasta for a little SP and without the insane damage cripples peltasta has to suffer and stagger enemies longer than peltasta
-reduce int and spr of magic casters
-cause various status effects such as bleeding (damage scales with atk), shock, armor break and no jump, and can turn them into more damage with vertical slash
-reduce enemy physical def by 100% with skull swing
-ice pick effect by turning the reduced def into damage with skull swing+vertical slash
-continuous attack skill with 50% base critical rate
-extreme control with several knockback/knockdown skills that can be turned down at will
-all skills cost a meager amount of SP compared to almost all other classes
-two handed sword means they can hit more targets per attack than anyone else in the game and their attacks have a pretty wide range
-as a swordsman they get higher level-scaling phys def bonus, much higher HP multiplier and very slightly lower max SP

I stopped using Physical Link around level 90 or so. It was good at the beginning, when everyone had low hp and the damage reduction was visible.

As levels go on, not only does the guy with 6k+ HP stands and eats hits, making you die - but the skill is also bugged, linking (at best) 3 people, even with max level.

Linker 2 is pretty nice not just for 8 targets on Penalty but also for Spiritual Chain. Longer Bind from Hangman's is nothing to scoff at either.

I wasn't planning on it but after people kept saying Fletcher was lackluster, I decided to test Rogue instead.

Archer C1 > Ranger C3 was my path.

I might not be as strong as Archer C3 single target with their level 15 Multi Shot but I can keep up with level 5 Multi Shot, level 15 Barrage, and level 5 Spiral Arrow while offering a lot more AoE. Overall I'm happy with the path I've chosen up till now.

There is not and that's where you come in.
I assume you don't even need a Scout to dig chest up, just dig in correct spot. But we need to know the correct spots first.
Make a kickstarter-like thing, raise funds on forums to do chest-finding expeditions, make it cheesy/chuuni, roll in dosh.

Yeah, though eventually I said fuck it and ate some cards to reach Mage Tower's level and did quests up to it. In the process of doing the 90 dungeon to cap again (2/5 so far, will hit 105 on my next run and class level 9) and still holding onto 6 Lv5 cards for after I've capped) then going to talk to Grita and start the Mage Tower set.

You can mob grind a bit with Stele Road, Goddess' Ancient Garden and Fedimian Suburbs

would it be better to just archer c3? i just want some more aoe desu

Do you guys know if there is a penalty against your attack for fighting enemies that are something like 5-10 levels higher than you?
Or is the reason that I can't fight lv100 enemies at lv60 cause the enemies just have higher defenses.

I've tanked quite a bunch of field bosses so far, and I noticed I'd get out-aggro'd some times. When it's another Peltasta, there is no problem, since tank is a tank.
But I've counted 5 cases so far when it was not a Swordsman that did it. Surprisingly, in all 5 cases, it was an Archer, which led me to think there might be a bug involved with them. It was never Quarrel Shooter either, which you could assume to generate extra threat than others. They were always around my level (and bosses too), definitely no chance of them dealing 6 times as much damage as I could dish out.


I want to write something like this on forums, since that's obviously a bug and submitting a report with video is near impossible. Have you guys seen anything like this, on field bosses, or in dungeons? Maybe some feedback

yes, the optimal is 4 level differences where it will gives 100% exp without penalty.

you can't fight level100 when you are level60 not because of higher defense but the mechanic of the game where you only do 1 damage.

None were Wugushi. Not sure about amount of hits, maybe Multi-shot has some effect here, or the 0CD skills are to blame.

I know for sure one was C3 Archer, one was C3 Ranger, so it happens with various builds.

Still, I don't think Archers are able to deal 6x as much damage as a Hoplite.

I think it's a lot of fun. Solid basis, but a lot of things need to be fixed pretty badly. Skills scaling terribly is a huge issue in the way classes are designed, for an example.
The fact that the shout/partychat/market servers are constantly on the fritz is ridiculous.

It has great potential, and I have a lot of fun even with it in its current state. It's a really linear game for a long time, and while there's a grind you're not grinding to an objective because there aren't many things in the game in its current state.

Like, it's a really unpolished work and nowhere near ready for release, they have a lot of work to do on it, a lot more to do besides the very few quests per map and the scattered dungeons and missions. A bit of balance tweaking needs to be done for certain jobs, too. A level 70 dungeon to even out between 50 and 90 would work to resolve the Mausoleum issue people can currently run into. Increased spawn rates for various monsters, better mob density at later maps in general. Raids released over time.

Outside of this, and a few other things I'm just too lazy to list (in case of word count mostly) cosmetic matters such as weapon skins, more things to unlock and explore to obtain, improved itemization (we have a lot of basically vanilla weapons with nothing going for them even on a fluff scale)

We also need things on the subject of refined features, or working in general. The friend list needs to work, shout and market need to be more stable.

I'm having a lot of fun, like a Hell of a lot of fun, but it needs a lot of polishing and testing

Does anyone feel like physical defense is completely useless? Same as crit resistance mobs don't crit anyway. The most useful stat on your gear is probably magic defense.
