>What is Tree of Savior?
Tree of Savior is a new action MMORPG with a lot of classes and cute hats. IMC Games have shown an interest in an international release, and has begun testing the game in various other languages, including English and Japanese, even whilst the Korean version is still in testing. The game is currently in the beta phase, and not fully released.

I'm going to start kissing in Klaipeda right now!
It's pretty Korean. If you don't like the standard Korean grindfest (albeit, this is a little kinder early on thanks to the exp resets and dungeon spamming)
Bare bones and really rough around the edges and not ready for a release, but I personally enjoy this beta more than other MMOs I could be playing instead. But then I like grinding, so there's bias.
>max level will be 400 something
>damage = atk+skill damage
I can't even begin to describe how fucking stupid this is. Seriously, at times it feels like they are just shotgunning innovations in this game, while some are spot on, some are just far, FAR from being interesting. No fucking wonder STR feels useless. Looks like endgame is DEX to win.
Not that guy, but to be dead honest, the sole reason I went cata over hop2 was for the special effect of the trident. In hindsight, in the final game I will not go cata because I will eventually get a better spear (and spear lunge makes enemies weak to pierce, so there's that).
This place is fucking hell.DO NOT go in here without a party.
Should I go for the Rogue dream or do the insane and go for C3 Scout
No idea what it does, if anything.
>174 and still not rank 6
Did you grind in demon prison?
There's an abrasive from somewhere that gives a chunk of exp when you feed it to a gem in enhancement. I've only gotten it once and I don't even know where I got it, but it's a purple dust item that specifically mentions being used to level up a gem
>full str sucks. Let's try dex
>full dex is just powerless crits. let's try a mix
>still weak but a bit better
>keep chugging sp pots and using gear with bonus sp
>squishy as fuck, hp goes down in 4 hits
>walk by some people talking
>they're saying archers are disgustingly strong
At least my hat is cute.
>Finally found the Flamini recipe
Starving demons way, Lv3 chest
anyone else getting broken ipf files? Is there any fix for this?
i wanna run something at least somewhat close to this for stealthy magic burst damage + healing
in pvp, how screwed am i /tosg/
I'm sure a Barbarian could of killed this with a couple of skills but that would require multiple button presses. I just have to hold down square.
As a pyromancer, I've played with parties that had from our overlords linkers3 and thaumaturges to memebarblanders and sappers, but I have NEVER played with monks nor paladins.
What the fuck do they even do?
I think it looks nice up close but with the screen zoomed out like normal it doesn't really stand out to me
WHEN DO YOU GET RANK 5 I WANT SORC SENPAI
Its not great but its at least a little extra dot on bosses and if I can ACTUALLY get mobs to stand in it for the full duration it can kill them all
Like the quests where 20 mobs spawn on you are made easier with it
I'll take the extra tickling over nothing honestly
Warning to all sadhus
OOB is fucked hard when it comes to weapons
The difference between a weapon with 128 matt and 27 holy atk
and one with 214 matt
Is a grand total of the weapon with less matt doing about 60 more damage per hit on a boosted OOB attack.
On any other magic attack, including non-boosted OOB, it is about 100 damage weaker.
So for some fucking awful reason, against any enemy, no matter the weaknesses, boosted OOB attacks basically say 'fuck you' to your matt if there is a weapon no matter how much weaker if it has some ele in it
The damage formulas in this game are so fucking dumb
Not really, no. It's going to make it slightly less unbearable if you have to fight a whole bunch of flying shits at once but your damage will still be ass compared to what it is on ground mobs
>The other half disappears when playing in a party with a melee class
On another note, I'm starting to think that I do more dps without the fire ball burn attribute... but I don't think I can prove it, only calculate it
Boosted OOB's damage formula is fucked.
The matt on your weapon is inconsequential compared to ele
27 holy attack can make up for 90 less matt and somehow make you hit for around 100 more damage with boosted OOB.
strong rod does say 1k damage per zaibas
shitty blunt does 900
strong rod does 480 per unboosted oob hit
shitty blunt does 450
So rod oudamages by 90~ per OOB attack
strong rod does 820 per boosted oob hit
shitty blunt does 910
So for some reason the blunt now outdamages by 270 per OOB attack
There is a small, kind of fucking big problem for sadhus here
So close, yet so far.
BTW should I become Necro or Alchemist?
Let's play spot the idiot at the market.
>spend 2 hours grinding Mausoleum 5F
>get a blue orb
>get two obsidian
>final minute before I log out some random person kills a mod that drops a fox mask and doesn't notice.
>sit on it so no one else sees.
How does boosting work in this game?
Would I fuck a lower level character over from his exp if we're in the same party but I just put buffs on him?
How about if I were to debuff the enemy with something like sleep or links?
Can anyone objectively explain why memelander is bad in the endgame other than "le korean said so xD"?
So far highlander can do various things:
-high damage skills that hit a lot of targets with good variety of slash and strike type
-guard as well as full con peltasta for a little SP and without the insane damage cripples peltasta has to suffer and stagger enemies longer than peltasta
-reduce int and spr of magic casters
-cause various status effects such as bleeding (damage scales with atk), shock, armor break and no jump, and can turn them into more damage with vertical slash
-reduce enemy physical def by 100% with skull swing
-ice pick effect by turning the reduced def into damage with skull swing+vertical slash
-continuous attack skill with 50% base critical rate
-extreme control with several knockback/knockdown skills that can be turned down at will
-all skills cost a meager amount of SP compared to almost all other classes
-two handed sword means they can hit more targets per attack than anyone else in the game and their attacks have a pretty wide range
-as a swordsman they get higher level-scaling phys def bonus, much higher HP multiplier and very slightly lower max SP
Am I forgetting anything?
>"Joint penalty is an extremely potent skill! That's why it only links 5 enemies!"
>Nobody ever takes Linker2 Which would double the amount of enemies linked
Yea, whatever. You guys aren't about to meme me into gimping my character this time and classing a linker.
I stopped using Physical Link around level 90 or so. It was good at the beginning, when everyone had low hp and the damage reduction was visible.
As levels go on, not only does the guy with 6k+ HP stands and eats hits, making you die - but the skill is also bugged, linking (at best) 3 people, even with max level.
>Decide to give Pyro-Linker a try
>Link an enemy to my fireball
>Not effort required kills
Linker C2 is only 8 targets
>Level 10 Maximum number of Links: 8
3 more targets is a wasted class. thats why ppl go linker 1 or 3
if it would be +5, would be pretty ok
Nobody goes linker 3 since the C3 skill is worthless and Joint Penalty only gets an extra 2 targets and a huge increase in SP cost from it.
Linker 2 is pretty nice not just for 8 targets on Penalty but also for Spiritual Chain. Longer Bind from Hangman's is nothing to scoff at either.
As nice as my Cryomancer tree of suction is for CC, I just don't have confidence in soloing it reasonably. Especially the temple mages. Maybe if I was a swordsman and could burst everything easier
I still have whispers from someone I played with on the first day, it's broken as hell.
Click on the whisper icon >>121455029 then randomly click around in the blank space, it shows you names of the people who whispered you (you can't read messages though)
1 circle of a bunch of random shit that would be torture
If you wait till release you can be a real jew Kabbalist
Anyone has lag issues in Mausoleum Storage ? After 5 minutes or so, the skills stop working, and mobs disappear from the screen - even if the chat is still going.
Didn't happen to me in any other map so far
I went linker2 because everything else is trash for summoners. I'll gladly take 3 more targets and 5 seconds more of stun, especially when the stun lasts longer then the cooldown.
Anyone on Gabija want to run the level 90 dungeon for a chance at Arde Dagger? Level 126 here.
I wasn't planning on it but after people kept saying Fletcher was lackluster, I decided to test Rogue instead.
Archer C1 > Ranger C3 was my path.
I might not be as strong as Archer C3 single target with their level 15 Multi Shot but I can keep up with level 5 Multi Shot, level 15 Barrage, and level 5 Spiral Arrow while offering a lot more AoE. Overall I'm happy with the path I've chosen up till now.
Historic Site Ruins. The one with Necroventer as the boss.
'Kay, give me a minute to get there.
There is not and that's where you come in.
I assume you don't even need a Scout to dig chest up, just dig in correct spot. But we need to know the correct spots first.
Make a kickstarter-like thing, raise funds on forums to do chest-finding expeditions, make it cheesy/chuuni, roll in dosh.
Yeah, though eventually I said fuck it and ate some cards to reach Mage Tower's level and did quests up to it. In the process of doing the 90 dungeon to cap again (2/5 so far, will hit 105 on my next run and class level 9) and still holding onto 6 Lv5 cards for after I've capped) then going to talk to Grita and start the Mage Tower set.
You can mob grind a bit with Stele Road, Goddess' Ancient Garden and Fedimian Suburbs
I hope release have anything fun at all to play
I am probably going to do the exact same path I've done so far again in release. I am having so much fun with Cryomancer's crowd control and Snow Rolling, which also works as crowd control while being great damage.
Do you guys know if there is a penalty against your attack for fighting enemies that are something like 5-10 levels higher than you?
Or is the reason that I can't fight lv100 enemies at lv60 cause the enemies just have higher defenses.
I've tanked quite a bunch of field bosses so far, and I noticed I'd get out-aggro'd some times. When it's another Peltasta, there is no problem, since tank is a tank.
But I've counted 5 cases so far when it was not a Swordsman that did it. Surprisingly, in all 5 cases, it was an Archer, which led me to think there might be a bug involved with them. It was never Quarrel Shooter either, which you could assume to generate extra threat than others. They were always around my level (and bosses too), definitely no chance of them dealing 6 times as much damage as I could dish out.
I want to write something like this on forums, since that's obviously a bug and submitting a report with video is near impossible. Have you guys seen anything like this, on field bosses, or in dungeons? Maybe some feedback
yes, the optimal is 4 level differences where it will gives 100% exp without penalty.
you can't fight level100 when you are level60 not because of higher defense but the mechanic of the game where you only do 1 damage.
there's a chart but couldn't find it now.
This is purely circumstantial but when I party with people and we fight quest bosses I tend to have the bosses attention 90% of the time as an archer even with barbs/highlanders etc
goddamnit. just kill me now.
None were Wugushi. Not sure about amount of hits, maybe Multi-shot has some effect here, or the 0CD skills are to blame.
I know for sure one was C3 Archer, one was C3 Ranger, so it happens with various builds.
Still, I don't think Archers are able to deal 6x as much damage as a Hoplite.
Fun game that needs varying amount of polish in certain aspects (itemization in particular), that should be pushed back to at least 2017 since I don't believe the devs, despite how based they are, can fix all the bad stuff in half a year.
It is still fucked up. It is impossible to keep aggro off archers. And worst of all - i cant even use stealth to drop it. If i stealth durning boss fight AI considers that the fight has ended and just regens to full.
I think it's a lot of fun. Solid basis, but a lot of things need to be fixed pretty badly. Skills scaling terribly is a huge issue in the way classes are designed, for an example.
The fact that the shout/partychat/market servers are constantly on the fritz is ridiculous.
But I just can't stop playing.
Since we have some r6s, do we have a Necromancer that can show the differences between certain cards? I actually just want to see the Archon card in action, but any will do
It has great potential, and I have a lot of fun even with it in its current state. It's a really linear game for a long time, and while there's a grind you're not grinding to an objective because there aren't many things in the game in its current state.
Like, it's a really unpolished work and nowhere near ready for release, they have a lot of work to do on it, a lot more to do besides the very few quests per map and the scattered dungeons and missions. A bit of balance tweaking needs to be done for certain jobs, too. A level 70 dungeon to even out between 50 and 90 would work to resolve the Mausoleum issue people can currently run into. Increased spawn rates for various monsters, better mob density at later maps in general. Raids released over time.
Outside of this, and a few other things I'm just too lazy to list (in case of word count mostly) cosmetic matters such as weapon skins, more things to unlock and explore to obtain, improved itemization (we have a lot of basically vanilla weapons with nothing going for them even on a fluff scale)
We also need things on the subject of refined features, or working in general. The friend list needs to work, shout and market need to be more stable.
I'm having a lot of fun, like a Hell of a lot of fun, but it needs a lot of polishing and testing
>Fighting with all my armour and weapons broken
So when will they make it so it has some effect?
This thing is here if anyone's up for that.
Is there any penalty in dungeons for high level players in the group?
Because you are bad. Up to level 130 i had problems with exactly 2 bosses. But one of them is a job quest and everyone has problems with the other one.
Not exactly. I grabbed scout for pvp. If i wanted to go pure pve i would have gone ranger 3>rogue
Noone responded so far and i dont want to mess up with ppl who run for exp as i dont know if partying with high levels would reduce exp gain/loot or not.
by problems i mean it's so fucking slow, of course i'm not getting 2shotted by anyone or having problems defeating them but compared to every other class it's 10x slower
>IPF on char select
It's fucking hard to get an equip to +15 even if you could afford the costs. You can easily spend 500k on a lowlevel weapon and not get it to +15. Good luck doing that with higher level equips.
this is best
I'LL WHORE MYSELF OUT FOR A TRIDENT
If you're on Gab, I'll pay you, then I'll kiss you, then I'll show you my butt, then you can humiliate me in front of everyone and leave.
please, I need that trident.
It's pretty fucking solid up to like 120-130. Mage Tower is a really nice place and the zones up to Main chamber work well. After that I think the level of polish goes down a lot and it's not just translation. I'd expect this level range to be really well done since it's been the target of the betas since kcbt1 but for some reason there's still a lot of shit that doesn't fly in my book. The later beta content being so bad makes me really worried about the shape of 200+ content.
Class balance is what it is. They're working on it but since the Barbarian/Highlander reworks I haven't seen as much progress as I expected. A lot of problems haven't been addressed at all and they're trying to fix Archer classes in all the wrong ways. For some reason they don't seem to get that the flat scaling they have in place isn't going to work 200+ at all. I think they're blind to that fact because they've been testing 1-200 too much and the later stages not nearly enough.
Field bosses for the most part have too much hp and them being able to oneshot just about anything feels to be justified with the instant ress with iCoins which I thought would only be a beta thing. It makes me afraid they'll keep the ress feature for release. The bosses also don't seem to require any sort of tactics and instead you can just keep hammering your face into them until they die.
Quest bosses work fine for the most part. There's some minor balance to be done with numbers and skill cooldowns like some bosses spamming their add summon for instance.
I'm going to keep playing it and I hope to see a lot of changes in the future but at the same time I'm afraid they'll just push it out the gates way too unfinished and things will never get truly fixed. It could potentially be my next big title that I will spend years playing but it could also end up as another of those forgotten titles.
I'm really fucking curious as to what kind of imbeciles shit up market with those prices. Are those BR and SEA? I have never seen anyone from Yurop being this retarded with auction houses ever.
You sure you're mixing shit up?
C3 is fucking beast exactly because of the stat share of Life Line
>All those overly specialized builds
Do you guys even hybrids?
Life Line does basically nothing unless you have a consistent group you run with literally all the time and everyone in it plans their stats around it being there constantly, which will never happen.
Alrighty, everyone. What do cool kids use to make polls right now, I have an urgent one to make for /tosg/
Oh god why??
Hopefully some kind anon has just acquired a spare one.
We need more people.
It's like 34 HP per level which greatly reduces my concern of needing to put many points in CON, and works especially well in
duels against any physical class
It might not be amazing, but it's nice to have, especially with plate CON or HP bonuses, and I'm not starving for magic defense or SP at all. The extra stamina is also entertaining
Am I missing something about this 50 dungeon? People were talking about how if you run it 5 times you hit 60 but I've gotten like 10-15% per run. Are we supposed to be clearing the side paths?
When do I stop running this 5 times a day, by the way?
dead game holy shit this beta is boring this game is fucking simple and boring 80+ unique classes my ass
never buy into hype
savior me from the bugs and lag
Where can I find materials for Fletcher arrows?
I'm thinking about creating one, but want to know how sustainable it can be.
What about wugushi? It seems it consumes stuff such as poison pots, but where can those be obtained and in what quantity?
>sitting at work all day
>bring my old 6870 in
>doesn't fit, too big
fuck. I so hoped this would fit. I just wanted to play ToS all day since we'll be slow as fuck.
They should lower the base damage from the skills and have a 2*stat or 3*stat.
Eg. 2*int + 100 for Zaibas at level 5. It's 166 + int now.
This makes it weak at first, but grows stronger as you add more.
>Beta 1, Brazilians take our fucking codes
>Beta 2, They take even more of our codes.
>Beta 2, They get their own fucking server.
>Beta 2, They get more fucking keys?
>And i'm still here since beta 1 waiting for a key, god have you forsaken me?
Yes, there's also the possibility of going PURE stat and sharing your sub-stats for maximum dps output.
And that only the offensive factor, there's the defensive, like everyone getting a fuckton hp, sp, def, MAGIC DEF, evasion, etc
Is there really a "useless" attribute though?
Can't you end up acquiring every single attribute in the game given enough time?
is there a cap?
Isn't it easily possible for the skill to not give much at all because your party members have fairly similar stats? What if everyone is mostly dex?
Wouldn't you yourself going pure con or some shit gimp you in some way?
>get low level friend
>link him with your gigantic alpha dick stats
>set party exp share to individual
>let him fuck shit up
P-power level? Does it work?
>Join a group, go in to dungeon
>The crowd outside is so large they give up trying to enter and disband the party anyway
>Get another group that added me thinking a Cryomancer was a tank
>"It's okay, I'm a Hoplite so I can tank it"
>End up tanking it because Snow Rolling apparently generates the most hilarious amount of aggro in comparison to everyone else
>My reward for the day was yet another card
This game still needs area with less mobs that gives far more exp per kill be it for solo or party play.
I mean you could go full retard and increase the mob density like in demon prison but that would only matter for aoe spammers.
Not when it's contested as fuck, you don't want that. You want high mob density not just because of AoE, but because otherwise the competition against everyone is fucking awful
