I recently started playing again after barely playing at all for like 4 years. I think I left around sometime a bit before the Uber update. It makes me feel young again. I find myself falling into the same class that I spend most of my time on despite intending to dump more time into others, just like old times.

What's depressing though is that my go to servers(Railbait) have pretty much died off, and the Valve servers suck because no one knows each other. It also feels like there are more shitty people playing, like all those meme spouting faggots and Bronies. It's also depressing knowing that the game is slowly dying, it is pretty old after all.

A quick search of SCM resulted in 0 unusual dead'er alives from the gargoyle series, that's pretty much a no. I'll probably replace the pullover on my set with a dead'er.

As far as unusual effects go Community Gen effects are the most stable. Those effects only comes from those crates, so to unbox them somebody has to go out of their way to get the crates and unbox them. As none of the community gen effects is as valuable a windfall as a scorching hat, anybody going out of their way to unbox something worth a damn would just buy a series 1 crate and unbox that. The only people unboxing robo crates at this point are people who like me really like the effects.

In that vein, it's fairly easy to corner the market wholly on a hat/effect combination. I've got all four sulphurous pugilist protectors known to backpack.tf, and the likelihood that another will be unboxed is really small.
