The hash of a url is typically not sent to the server, or anywhere between the server and your browser. This is where mega puts the file id and decryption key.

Even without that, everything except the domain name is encrypted if you're accessing a webpage over https, although that can be theoretically circumvented.

Typically, the ISP isn't the main concern. It's copyright holders noting the IPs of torrent clients uploading copies of their files, and sending that information to ISPs for them to forward the complaint to the customer.

I've received three warnings from Verizon so far, and I believe they were in regards to shit I torrented from bittorrent. Right now I'm trying to get Paradox legit. Whatever I got the money, I don't give a shit. But DLsite breaks Paradox down into three separate files, and believe me it's just all fucked up. I've had zero issue pirating Paradox in the past, but if I get new versions of the game from DLsite, then forget it, I can't get it to work. So really my only option to to get it illegally.

Unfortunately I live under my parents roof and today they got caught in the middle of this shit when Verizon locked us out of our internet temporarily (and no they don't know what I downloaded before anyone asks). So my options are pretty much limited here. I'm hoping when Part 2 comes out I can just download the game from Mega, but I'm paranoid as all fucking hell I'll get in trouble for that.

In this case, it's probably just Verizon trying to stop people from using torrents in general. Torrents use more network resources than direct downloads and make them deal with complaints.

Direct downloads should be fine. If you want to be completely sure and have a laptop or smartphone, you can find a coffee shop with free wifi and loiter around for an hour or so while it downloads.

Yup seriously. It's fucked up that I can't even get the game legally through DLsite. It's an issue of unpackaging the parts. I checked my download folder and history. I bought the game a long time ago when it was first released, and guess what? I'm able to unpackage that version just fine. It's the new 1.21 version I can't unpackage.

The way I see it I got just a couple options. I can grab my laptop and use it at public wifi spots to download it from whatever source, copy the files to a flashdrive and then transfer them to my PC. Or if you guys think that I shouldn't run into any issues using Mega, I can just say fuck it and get the game from Mega uploads from now on, and never use Bittorrent again. Which would be a no brainer for me, except I'm living under my parents house. So basically if we get warned from Verizon again, my parents are gonna be ultra fucking pissed.

How far along is the translation patch for paradox?

Version 1.21 is split into three different files on DLsite. The first file is Winrar (and I don't have the option to choose Open With) and the second two are 7zip. This is what it looks like when I open the first file which is Winrar. This basically means, according to DLsite's troublshoot that

But I am running on Japanese local, and just to double check I went into my download folder and selected the Winrar file for Paradox 1.0 and I got proper Japanese characters showing up.

You might be able to extract them by using 7zip's GUI, instead of the right-click context menu.

Not sure why the original works for you and not the update, though. Locale is different than having the character set installed, but that should be installed if the first one worked and if you can play the game.

Alright I'm totally confused by how DLsite distributes the files for Paradox Part 1. I just bought the game legally and it gives me the download for three separate files. One is Winrar and the other two are 7zip. I can download the Winrar file called Part 1 no problem, but the other two Parts when I'm unpackaging them list off a couple of broken files (pic related). What I don't understand is when I unpackage Parts 2 and 3, it's showing me folders and files that already came with Part 1 which is the Winrar file. If I toss all these files into the same folder, I can't run the game, it gives me an error message.

However if I unpackage only Part 1, and click on the game icon, the game runs just fine. So what's the deal here? Do I only need Part 1 to play the game?

If you try to unpack file 2 or file 3, it fucks up because file 1 is the one with the necessary instructions. Paradox is a bit longer. Part 1 of MGQ ends at Gnome. Part 1 of Paradox goes past Gnome with 1 more town town, 2 more cave/mountain dungeons, and another Tartarus with its associated exploration and story events and last boss.

It would be fair to maybe say Ilias content is 35-40% of the game. In retrospect, I am remembering that it has 2 Tartarus runs and a lot of extra added little places to the southeast and northeast. Spend so much time in the postgame, it is a bit easy to forget that there is a fair bit on Ilias continent.

I fucking hate the fights in Ecstasy's NG+. I've beaten them all, but they are so goddamn brutal. In MGQ you could always afford to make a couple mistakes in fights. In NG+ if you make one mistake, you lose. There's literally only one way in a lot of Ecstasy's fights for you to win. One pattern that you have to figure out, and even then when you discover that pattern, you need luck on your side. Because you also have to rely on the enemy occasional missing, which sometimes doesn't happen.

Alma Elma, Koakuma and Queen Mermaid are the worst offenders in this regard if memory serves.

Speaking of Salty, has he mentioned his progress on the next part recently? It's been a pretty long time since his last patch.

Is it bad that I played this without caring for the porn?
I mean, few years back I read that MGQ had an Ok story overall but I neglect it because it's an eroge.

This year for pure whim I find some things in my backups (The snapshots of the spirits when using the skills) and settle to give it a try.
I pushed through the game like it was any other JRPG, avoiding losing and always doing the "right thing".

The story uses almost every cliche of the book but it executes them well, so it was a satisfying story overall, regardless of some gross things here and there.

Is it wrong? I liked a lot of characters and all but I don't give a single cent for the porn.

What I liked most, was the fact that the story was planed as a whole before hand and not on the fly. It makes it consistent and enjoyable.
You, as the player, every time are getting hints about all the background lore of that world, most of the time they fly over Luka's head but that's because those are directed to You, not to the character.

About the pic, I didn't say that it was the second coming of christ or something, just that the developers put enough care to the story to make it enjoyable and somewhat consistent in its own lore and universe.

Almost every work of fiction will fall on itself and crumble if any outsider analyze it in depth. And that should be more obvious in an eroge. I guess I'll give a try to the fan fic someday, I was satisfied with how the story ended.

Even if that was true, there is literally not a single mention whatsoever of monster-born humans in the entire game save for Sphinx's son and what Alice says. It might as well be as rare as heterochromia or full blown albinism IRL, or other genetic mutations that are more statistical anomalies than anything else.
