Really? It showed FPS integrated with the rest of the game, running in the open world instead of an AC-style 5v5 match. There's maybe a week's worth of work on the FPS blockers listed on the website, and I'd add another week for general polish and new things breaking.

My problem now is that we don't even know mechanically how those things are going to work. How will salvage work? How will trade work? We have just general outlines of 'we can do these things,' but no actual explanation of mechanics. The biggest new thing we got today, mechanically, was the starmap, and that is not even anything new, it literally is the EVE map. Why can't they at least explain some other functions, mechanically, to at least show that they are thinking about it.
My fear is that they get the base game down, but that there will be no other mechanics to it other than fly around and shoot things.

Hard to say, $170 seems too damn much for a single seat ship with no turret or cargo, 4 guns mounts, and only two s2 missile mounts, so I suspect they'll make it stupidly fast, maneuverable, and durable compared to the hornet.
I say buy a 3 year insurance Gladius and then do an upgrade when the Sabre is flyable. 3 years might as well be LTI as far as the game's concerned anyway.

I'll give you guys credit for the purchase thing, but honestly that doesn't matter at this point. The project has raised 90+ mil or something like that. We already have almost a million people who will play and continue funding, and that number is steadily rising with things like CitCon. The community is active, and the progress continues regardless of what any blogger like DS says. Let them shit on SC, 270 dedicated team members + however many outsources won't halt because someone talks shit. The game is continuing, and the progress will speak for itself. A million people, assuming nobody else joins, is certainly enough for SC.
