While I won't disregard a game because of the region it was made in and there's tons of both great and poor entries from both sides, on the whole I find the east is better at his whole video games thing than the west. I don't like modern western games not because I prefer Japanese games, but because I enjoy older western games much more, every time I try a new western rpg I feel disappointment and just want to go back and play Neverwinter Nights again.

That being said, Japan should make a cute cartoonish traditional western rpg. It would be nice.
