Since classic Paper Mario is explicitly dead in favor of Mario & Luigi and I loved how the combat system in Paper Jam worked, it would be cool if they had multiple characters to take the third spot in exploration and battles, like the companions in Paper Mario. Doesn't even need to be as complex with you being able to swap them at will, there could be a different partner for each area to keep things fresh and make the exploration and combat in each one feel different.

Super Mario RPG used top SNES graphics, the GBA games did too. I hope they don't go 2D sprite-based just for that nostalgia cred, and actually do something more similar to Odyssey in terms of graphics, but stick to the RPG gameplay of M&L/Paper Mario 64

The 3DS games already have 3D environments, so the only step left for full 3D is the characters. I think they'd still keep the fixed camera angle though.

Yoshi isn't as connected to the two as mario and luigi are connected to eachother. Yoshi would work a bit better as a third but separate character than one in a group of three.

I am starting to hate Nintendo hand held. I have a 3DS but I like playing on my TV, I hate handhelds. Metroid should have came out for the Switch, and remasterd Mario and Luigi too.
