The only Xbox One takes the cake as the only console that I've ever hated to use.

Granted, I haven't touched one in like two years, but I was using the one my dad bought and decided he was never going to play and each week there would be a mandatory several gigabyte-sized update that you could not skip. The UI is a cryptic mess and has ads ridden all over it. It was such a fucking chore to do anything on it.

The Xbox consoles have always had the best controllers, the best online infrastructure, typically ran games better and were just light years ahead in many aspects. In a perfect world the only two gaming platforms should be Xbox and PC.

Its sold better than the saturn, dreamcast, n64, gamecube, vita, xbox, and wii u. It is on course to sell better than the genesis, psp, nes, snes, and possbily the 360 and ps3. Hardly a failure if you ask me. It really depends on if they can turn their image around. No idea why they pushed for kinect and DRM so hard in 2013, despite getting nothing but hate for it. I don't really agree; if the only thing it has going for it is single player games then it's nothing but a locked down and branded PC. Those games would be better off on a regular PC instead of a corporate locked one. The local multiplayer and media functionality provide experiences that were not inherently better on a PC, which makes the Xbox worth owning much more. With a ps4 (at least for me) I have one but I'd like not to. I'm about 55% on board with wanting to have it at all. I think it's better to have it now than to not have it, but that doesn't make it a good console

If Sony is getting so much money out of the PS4 why would they stop so soon for such as arbritary reason? If the console is still selling well by 2019 why would they cut it out?
Heck, the Switch is out and Nintendo still released a new 3DS thanks to it doing so well after the latest Pokemon. Companies don't drop consoles fast if the consoles are doing well. Sony has no pressure from anyone to jump to a new gen. Scorpio is only PS4pro's delayed (and more expensive) competition, not PS5's rival.
MS isn't going to release another Xbox console after Scorpio for at least 3 years, that's more free time for Sony to collect money on PS4, no need to rush a PS5 out, regardless of how shit you think the hardware from this gen is.

2 problems.
1. The console isn't console-quality. It's barely more powerful than the wiiu which was barely as powerful as the consoles of it's previous generation.
Considering we're at the end of the ps4/xbone consoles lifespan and the xboxx is coming out soon the switch is effectively 2 generations old, and still running ass-backwards architecture, it will never get modern multiplats.
2. Nintendo hasn't made good exclusives in a long time, and so far we're half a year deep and not a single worthwhile exclusive has hit the switch

If you break down the month by month for this entire generation microsoft has spent half as much as sony on marketing and sold half as much. It's almost a perfect ratio. I think the only real difference is most of sony's other businesses are failing, while their gaming division is making profits, and microsoft doesn't need the gaming money as bad because windows and office 365 make them a fuckload of money.

As someone who never owned an Xbox console before, I'm pretty tempted to get the One S just because of this. The fact that it also plays 4k Blu-rays is a nice bonus too.
