MS has to play their own cards right: treat Halo, Gears and Fable as well as they are treating Forza. Milking is not bad as long as you are doing it right. I like my Xbone because I've been earning gamerscore on my account since last gen, I play more last gen games than current ones so I get a lot of use from backwards compatibility, and the Games with Gold freebies are always better than the ones I get with PS+.

It's not like the game will have a small population on X1, since it costs $30 they should separate PC and Xbone for Matchmaking, but allow Custom Matches to be crossplay.

Crossplay for a game like that would require separate lobbies for controller and KBM users. It's hard enough playing console games now that KBM adapters have gotten popular, but those at least still have to emulate a thumbstick and don't give the full mouse advantage.

Crossplay works for Gears because only sniper rifles found on the map benefit from improved aim.
