You can complete it now with the most recent patch.

Before the most recent patch, Knossos and Baphomet areas were unfinished and unable to be completed, thus you could not retrieve the tablets necessary to complete the game. Thus, you were stuck at around 83% completion.

Some people were saying that it was the fault of people 'speedrunning' or 'hacking', but the most recent patch proved that it was in-fact an actual game issue. That being said, you need to be in at least .21 to finish the game, otherwise you are stuck. Everything said by the 83% anon in the /vg/ thread was correct, but the main gamebreaking issues have now been fixed.

It is still buggy as all hell, some things won't work or won't trigger and you can get stuck very easily and have to restart, especially with the Princess and Pyramid quests, but you *can* complete it now.

Lethal Blow is required to kill some of the last bosses.

Sheloch appears twice in the game, and her regen is bugged to the point she will regenerate over a thousand health a combat turn. As such, you need to kill her with Lethal Blow, using Summon Undead or Summon Daemon or Vivogenesis to help lower her health enough to allow for instant death.

In addition to regenerating thousands every combat turn, they also are immune to spell damage, including deep freeze, and attack 5+ times a turn, and cast a spell at the end of their attack phase that is usually Earthquake or similar powerful AoE spells, and each normal attack has a chance to instant-kill.

Just finished everything in crowl now everyone hates me and I think this is it for me, at least until some balance patches drop.

Every boss that isnt immune to melee gets one shotted by lethal blow, extremely high rate of proccing when maxed, even regular enemies rarely die from normal damage despite having only 2 characters with the skill.

Most hard fights are all about the first round: enter unprepared and people die before you can act, enter with a hasted bard and your enemy dies before he can act
If both fail and your wizard is alive, deep freeze is an one hit kill

Spells in general are unbalanced as shit, from some shitty debuffs to absurd mana cost (lol necromancy) you wont ever be using more than half of your arsenal. Magic missile, fire/ice ball, shrill sound, swarm, crushing hand and deep freeze outclass every other damaging spell. Early game you might as well go with claws if its a wolfin spellcaster, once you get a new spell its also more mana efficient so you will rarely use a lower one.

Writing/lore is usually decent, but hours of hype about this ancient place overflowing with abominations that was sealed 700 years ago, people took two steps into the place and were already being devored, please dont ever break the seal its pretty much pandora in there yadda yadda yadda but when you finally get there half of the encounters are mad dwarfs, the other half is generic spiders and worms that were also present outside, only had new enemies in the lowest level and the only abomination is the boss, which died one hit because of course it did.

Recruitable npcs are retarded in every sense of the word, from ugly ass portrait from impossibly high stats instead of something unique or fun. Why even bother levelling niche skills when you can just recruit a lvl 1 guy with 60 in every skill and attributes of a lvl 10? Lil Rosy isnt an exception to help newbies, she is the rule.

You should really play all 3, but 6/7 does not have anywhere near the level of detail put into the maps that grimoire does, nor do they have all these extremely autistic puzzles. Don't use the starter party. Get a couple high HP people up front, then some fights, and also get a Aeorb Sage, the eyeball dude. Also don't choose Drow as your face for a caster, their mana regen is terrible.

Ranger, berserker without berserk or warrior at the two front spaces to tank, one wolfin cleric, one wolfin wizard, one whatever class bard or sage (sage can use instruments but doesnt start with one, its also the class with most utility spells so get one unless you have all other casters). Pick bonus hp if you can, front row should have at least 30.
You absolutely need identify, detect secrets and cure light wounds to start with. Watch out for disease, it prevents every condition from being healed by resting, which is a huge problem if you also get a condition that prevents items like paralize. Apples and Leeches remove disease, rare glowy orbs do when resting on them, lvl 4 cleric has cure disease.
Shrine start is by far the easiest one and recommended if you have no idea what you're doing, has an OP fairy you can recruit if you want (recruiting any npc is pretty much cheating).
