My dad played a lot of video games pre-N64. The only games he's liked since are Eledees and Little King's Story

>>385632782
Video games weren't around at that time ya dingus

>>385632680
games dad played even though he's not a gamer
>>385632782
are you 12? My dad was born in the 50s
I think this is the one and only game I've ever seen my dad play.
My dad hates video games and animals.
>>385632037
My dad played Nethack on his university's computers, and got me into it when I was a kid. It's still one of my favourite video games to this day.
'twas supposed to be my birthday present but he played it day and night.
>>385632321
Oh shit, the memories are coming

>>385632037
>>385633967
Good god this fucking game. No other RTS ever used the training mechanics this one had ever, warrior units just pop out of thin air in every other RTS game.
Minesweeper?
I set up FTL on my dads laptop and he 100% it
>>385632680
Dadcore games are mature niche games who a dad would play
I used to watch my dad play this.
>>385634368

>>385634472
No idea actually
>itt a bunch of underage b&s try to make fun of oldfags even tho the oldest children people could have that played these games is 10 years old
My dad's 55 but he was obsessed with this game when it came out. I'd play till my arm got tired and then he would take over.
>>385634396
>Blitzkrieg
>actually one of the slowest RTS to ever exist

>>385633967
I love this fucking game so much.
I was also afraid of it a littte.

I remember laughing as a kid when that witch doctor dude cast a spell because it sounded like he was saying caca
That's all he was playing before he passed away.
>>385632037Damn
>>385632782
video games didn't exist in my dads youth. he spent his weekends after school flying kites outside and getting laid
>>385632037
This and some Batman brawler game I can never remember the name for
>>385638576
You should give him the UE4 kite demo. I don't think you can get laid in it but you can fly a kite.
>>385633007
how does he play vidya with 1 arm?
>>385632037
Last game my Dad played last I checked was Diablo 3.

>>385632782
Duke Nukem 3D was released in 1996. If your dad was a kid in 1996, then you're a kid now, and you should leave.
>>385639492

>>385638078
He's waiting for you in Softcore, Anon.
>>385639987
I think I want to try this. I hear it's good. Fighting is obviously gonna be 90% of the game but how is the crew management / strategic side of the game?
>>385641863
Better than most SRPG games. There are no set missions, there's an overmap and you can advance on territory as you see fit, as can your enemies. You decide what to do with your team and how you want to play your strategy.
Any crew member can increase their stat for a particular main skill by practising it or being taught by another crew member, but obviously it's more efficient to have specialists. Especially since each crew member may have in-born traits that give bonuses/penalties to certain things. For example Fox has Ambidexterity as a trait, giving her a bonus to dual wielding that can't be learned or taught.
I recommend installing the community 1.13 patch even if you turn off all the extra features, as it has some important bug fixes. Takes a bit of learning but well worth it.
>>385632037
Not my dad because ded but my uncle played games like wolfestein, time crisis, quake...
He bought his own ps2 and he played A LOT of horror games, like project zero, resident evil or the suffering, etc
Ps3 was too much for him for some reason and now only plays random facebook/flash type games like pic related.

Been a few years since I played, so I'm not 100% sure what's in it now. I heard something about a food system which probably is overkill and I would look at disabling that. For the first playthrough you get asked settings when you start, one thing that might help is playing with a Reduced amount of guns to keep things simple at first.
Honestly you can just dive in and see what happens. My first time I kept dying on the opening section trying to learn the controls because I was too lazy to look it up.
My dad used to kick my ass in SSX Tricky and he absolutely destroyed Pikmin, those are the last games he played.

When my dad was a kid computers were used to calculate ballistic missiles, basically this >>385633056

Playing it as I type this. It's the only game he plays, and I would guess that he's done so almost every day for the best part of a decade. At this point I can say with absolute certainty he's played more Star Wars Battlefront than any other person on the planet. His average game is about ~110 kills, one or two deaths, ~8 command posts, on foot, on hard mode. He almost exclusively plays clones and rebels because they're the good guys, and also because fighting the droids is more of a challenge. He turned sixty this year.
He also played a lot of Civilization II back in the day, as well as Lord of the Rings: The Third Age.

Are you fags really taking this shit from /mu/? I joked about this fucking years ago, now it's becoming real. This is not a good thing to start, it will just lead to dismissing games cause they're old.

There are plenty of 12 year olds on 4chan.
