I really loved my first cat, he was an absolute bro who gave no fucks.
Sadly, at the age of 16, his kidneys shut down, so he woke me up by vomiting blood all over my chest as he was sleeping, and slowly rolling off to the side, somehow still giving the minimum amount of fucks. Guess that had something to do with his breed. Had to put him down.
I don't think I felt as bad as the rest of the family, because I'm pretty sure my cat had awesome life.
Still, I'd rather not get very attached to the current one.

Another story was that while in the park (you can safely untie the dog from the belt.), I was petting her and suddenly she decided to run like there would be no tomorrow aimlessly, crossing the streets or running on it. She almost got rolled by a car.

What's really fun is spending a couple of hours fletching arrows from wood. Then collect frogs, and nail them to a wooden plank. Then, you let them down a subtle stream and dip your arrow tip in a fire and shoot at the frog with a DIY bow.

I feel you, OP. I had a scare with my 13 year old cat a few months ago. Thought his kidneys were shutting down for good, turned out to be a curable infection. Pic related is him post treatment. I know that's not the most helpful, but for the week or so that I didn't know what was happening to him, I was in hell, as I'm sure you are now.
