Never got this. The enclave want to kill off the muties and ghouls with the FEV. You can literally count the amount of good mutants and ghouls on your fingers. The Enclave are like the Legion, but actually capable and not a meme.

Also, why didn't the XO2 armor show up in any games besides fallout 3, always liked the sleek look better than the ostentatious XO1 and flat out ugly t51-b/45d

I like grabbing chances knife and running straight to the divide.

Starting with a nailgun, arc welder, bowie knife, and U.S. Army gen outfit/U.S. army combat armor is just too good.

You should also be able to take down the marked men at the gas station and pick up free high quality loot before returning to the Mojave.

I feel like 1 gave off a very good atmosphere. It was a very raw and rugged game and I appreciate that. It's got a certain charm about it and that goes a long way. 2 on the other hand feels very different from 1. I'd go as far to say that you could give 2 a modern facelift, change nothing about it and it would still be embraced by the modern crpg crowd. It's bigger, has more content, but it sacrifices cohesion to be bigger and better. Still a great game, but its a whole different beast from FO1.

Super Mutants mostly because you have to fight them a lot more than you do Enclave soldiers.

The only Enclave personnel you need to fight is Horrigan (who is basically a super mutant) as long as you don't fuck up the Speech checks at Navarro and keep your armor on through the Oil Rig.

Heavy guns are late game. So I would keep the sniper then level up to get Mutate! To switch traits to something like fast shot. Obviously pump points into big guns later down the road. I just find the combat system bad overhaul, such as sometimes shooting a guy point blank and it's the bullet goes through him like nothing happened. I want a mod that makes combat deadlier for both me and the enemy but have never found the right balance between too easy and frustrating. The closest ive gotten to what i want is this:

Fonline can be pretty harsh to those starting out. I suggest making a small guns/crafter character to begin with to allow you to go fight shit and get your crafting skills up as well as begin stockpiling weapons and loot. You want high outdoors, repair (and science if you wanna make energy weapons). Think of your crafter guy as being the support character for your main combat char so adjust him to suit what you want your main to be. Never leave camp with anything you dont want to lose.

Usually ones I like. Sometimes I'll keep them alive till a certain point then either let them die or just not reload if they happen to die. Ones like Raul, Boone, ED-E and Cass I almost always let live. Never sure about arcade, and I either kill off veronica or let her leave after butchering the brotherhood.

I had one run where Rex somehow died on me (he went missing and I randomly got "Rex has died!" After a long time without saving. I had also fixed his brain, and I remember the King was really upset, and since it was a NCR run I had to kill Pacer on top of that.

Fallout 1 is fucking short but tight. Everything is linked together nicely, good story line etc etc.

People that put F2 well below F1 are idiots. If F1 scored 99, then the lowst I would put F2 would be 95.

Lets go over the "bad" things that F2 did:

- Temple of trials. Shitty first dungeon to start the game. As far as I am concerned, anyone that can't figure out how to pass this, shouldn't play the fucking game, but I agree it's boring and tedious the first time let alone the 10th time to redo the game.
- Tribal village you start in. Do I really have to explain that one?
- Meme pop culture references, that people not born at the time and in America might be able to not know at least half of them. But there definitely are a lot of them and some more annoying than others.
- Some might complain that the .223, the most powerful 1 handed gun in Fallout of which you could only obtain 1 of through a quest, is now avalaible everywhere. They forget that this gun was just a .223 rifle modified and cut down to a pistol. I'm personally more annoyed that it didn't seem as powerful in F2
- A lot of people seem to think that the game is "unbalanced and stupidly hard". It actually is kind of in hte begining, but again, I personally like that.

What F2 did right:

- Much more to do. It wasn't unrealistic to be finishing fallout 1 at around levels 15-20. F2 can easily get you to 30.
- Added a lot more things that improved the game, a gun that uses 4 AP to shoot, the car with the boot where you can store your shit, a button to "loot all" etc etc
- Story lines were still pretty good. Continuation of of most things realative to F1
- Didn't shit (or hardly did) on already established lore of F1
- New Reno, best zone.

Same here. A friend was telling me about some mods, needed to update shit and then it all shit it's self. Oh well I was getting tired of jumping though hoops for TTW shit (I like the mod and the idea too it but patching everything, or finding the patches and patches for patches sometimes on their shitty site gets old), so a fresh install is welcomed in honestly.

Can't speak for him or others, but I just like modding. I find the whole thing fun, and most of the time shit doesn't fuck up too bad but some times it does. This time I'm just gonna keep a selection of mods and stick with it, it's gonna be over 20 though easily.

Sure is. Fonline reloaded. Check it out. Bunch of russians turned fallout2 into an mmo. Full loot, full pvp all the time. Its a bit less brutal if you've got mates to play with but still pretty fucking rad solo.
