In FFXIV, you simply switch your weapon, and it considers that to be your class. It also remembers your levels, stats, skills, whatever when you switch your class this way. Obviously, you cannot switch weapons (and therefore, classes) during instances and whatnot. All equipment is class-locked too, so it makes sense.

What annoys me is that since classes are locked to specific weapons, we'll never have the opportunity to use different weapons for any specific classes. For example, no spear wielding warriors or greatsword paladins.

I think that's going to hurt any class variations in the future and lock us all into very specific playstyles for each class. I'd love to get more options for playing each specific class even if we never really get dual classing back. Right now, when you see a warrior, you know it's always going to be a axe wielding tank with the same skillset as everyone else.

The character creation locks are checked every couple hours. You have to check at the beginning of each window for it to open up for even a few minutes.

This has all the windows. Alternatively you can try to make a character when they do the daily disconnect for people dodging the afk timer. As maintenance ends is another option.

The class still had its 60 kit and the new skills while kinda lackluster help you stay offensive more. Nothing feels better that being able to cheese one non lethal mechanic with these shields. Lustrate is so clutch too. The class still resembles what it did in heavensward just much more mp intensive. I'm just tired of these useless max level skills. I get some use off of union since while the heal is me at best if you stack crit the fairy crits often and with my gear for around 9k every other or 3rd tick.
