I agree in general, it's definitely a solid adaptation and generally all the bits they've added in are strong additions Except the bit with Aqua smirking at Kazuma's dick. They've all seen it in the LN and none of them mocked it.

But there's a handful of scenes where I feel they just didn't get things across as well as I would have liked

* The part where Kazuma says Megumin is cuter than Yunyun is meant to be him trying to distract from his true thoughts about her having no rack compared to her friend. That's why she gets mad. It's not him hitting on her.

* They completely removed the part in the baths where Kazuma explains the only reason he doesn't sexually harass Megumin is because she's (just barely) outside his strike range... And then the hilarious change in attitude when he suddenly starts sexually harassing her after her birthday when she's within bounds.

* The scene you linked, that whole episode rushes through just why Kazuma's trying to get Darkness hitched, her own aversion to it and even the resolution. It ends with her saying she's pregnant, and that topic never being brought up again.

etc etc etc.

Still, the little touches are nice and the animations are fun. Things like Megumin dancing around outside the dungeon doing her Chuuni bullshit, or hell, just seeing Aqua breaking down in general, the Anime is great. I just love the LN.

Although the Anime, they're a LOT nicer to Kazuma. In the LN, or at least with the translation we've got, from v2 to about v6 they treat him like absolute dirt, it's pretty rough!

8 hour speedruns fucking suck, especially when there are no major skips or anything like that. This is the equivalent of a hyper-optimized lets play. I know it takes a lot of skill, but there is no major glitching going on.

However: The player is very good and the couch is actually probably overall the best for any of the runs. They're very informative and decently entertaining. I have to say this run surprised the most out of any of them, I thought it was going to be miserable, instead it is decently enjoyable. It's a real shame about the length.

Speedruns are relative, not absolute

8 hours for a 30 hours game is good
the same as 1 minute for a 10 minute game is good
do you understand?

And there's some skill in the execution. It's not just menuing, there's the step count, the strategies for bosses and all the moves they can pull on you, the little optimisations from inconspicuous dialogue options, materia/equipment combinations and stuff I'm probably forgetting.

If you don't like the run, the game, or the fact that it's being speedrun, then why are you even here?

Go find a cycling club and tell them they're dumb because combustion engines exist or something.
