A shuffle team with him running debuffs just became my favorite team comp, and they took it all away.

Is it just me or does Antiquarian and Man at Arms work REALLY well together? Both got party wide buffs and protect me compliments really well with Man at arms too. Motherfucker either dodges everything or takes minimal damage from attack with counter attacks. Sure, it takes a couple of turns to setup but it's pretty good.

Hand of light's accuracy penalty is pretty decent, it's also a debuff with one of the lowest damage penalties. Against anything you can't kill in 1-2 turns HOL spam makes your party nearly impossible to hit if they have any dodge.

sadly illumination doesn't have an accuracy bonus so it isn't your one stop shop to deleting sippy skeles

Not just that but spamming it in easy fights or towards the end of fights can destress your party with crits. Other attack all abilities also have an improved chance to crit due to multiple targets but their damage isn't high and their usefulness for destress decreases as the enemy count does.

The journey is a long ass grind, though, filled with fighting the same bosses multiple times over with bigger health bars.

The destination is hyped up in the very title as being the important thing, and is consistently shown to be the root of your quest. If the game didn't make the DD seem that important, I'd give you that point.

Before they even released the Darkest Dungeon endgame I was under the impression that the Hamlet was some sort of purgatory ala Silent Hill's dead but not knowing you're dead thing.
Figured all the Madmen doing the accusation move were survivors of the previous 'cycle', or maybe that they were that actual character they were accusing. Though it probably makes equal sense for them to be a victim.

The game behaving like a cycle was kind of a let down, if you're going to have an ending you may as well have an ending.
I guess it would've been nice to see a long ending cutscene where the Hamlet gets fully restored, people come back to it, there's a time lapse of the Mansion being fixed up and then finally you're now a rich guy; and then eerie music plays as you pick up some nefarious looking object and walk down to those old ruins-

As you play, you'll get a feel for what to bring where. For example, in the ruins are lots of skellingtons who resist bleed but are weak to blight, so plague doctor, abomination, etc. are strong there. Conversely, piggies are weak to bleed, so hellion, hound master, grave robber etc. are strong. I think I've figured out the basic patterns for Skellies, Fishmen, and Shrooms after getting dunked on enough times. Didn't know the pigs are weak to bleed, but I guess it makes sense what with 'bleeding like a stuck pig' and all.

Unfortunately my only Vestal is absolutely riddled with negative traits after a string of defeats and the Stage Coach refuses to give me another, so healing isn't as reliable as I'd like it to be at the moment. I have been ditching poor recruits and replacing them as needed though.

Post your dungeon so far and I'll give you a guess.

Basically the dungeon is broken into two parts that is separated by a long hallway, somewhere in the side paths you'll find a key in a treasure chest or by beating a room full of enemies.
So go to every empty room and make sure there is or isn't more places for you to go, and make sure to clear every fight room too- because you never know.
