Chef has no i-frames, but his V+C allows him to avoid wurms early on and thats what everyone without I-frames struggle with early game. Not to mention he has more starting hp than anyone else in the game, which actually allows you to survive hits that would kill anyone else in one hit. His cleavers are absolutely ridiculous, probably the best basic attack in the game. Good DPS good range and it infinitely pierces enemies with no damage fall off, plus it can attack some enemies that are a ledge bellow(like imps).
His V+Z is also ridiculously good. It gives you a strong off ladder option(dropping off a ladder, hitting enemies at the base and then going back up the ladder), can clear flying shits like birds and bugs really well AND allows you to attack enemies that are above ladders without ever exposing yourself. It is bar none the best move in the game.
Plus he's the best character against wurms, which is the only enemies that you need i-frames for late game.You can take a shield gen to patch that weakness anyway, and when you can wipe out wurm swarms without breaking a sweat one use of the shield gen is all you need.
Chef has a strong answer to almost anything in the game, doesnt need damage items early on which allows you to stack hoofs and become almost untouchable.

I've been playing han-d a lot lately and I would have to disagree. He has a really rough early game, you have to depend on other players and drones to clear some of the more difficult situations. And when other players die and drones get desynced you can get stuck in some really shitty situations.
He's strong late game, sure. But early game is the most important phase. Not to mention you are still reliant on shield gen to deal with wurm swarms so you're still screwed there.

I mean, Chef's still the second high-list character, but when someone picks Chef he can still die easily if they do bad on the first levels. When they pick Loader? No other character has a better survivability ratio for the player.

First of all, we're talking about the character with the best evasion ability in the entire game. It's a "high-availability" invulnerability of 2.5s: it's literally a clutch shield. The only e-ability that comes closer is Bandit's and that still relies on a gimmick mechanic to avoid the 13s cooldown.

Not to mention if you make the calcs each basic attack has the average of 160 damage: tied with Enforcer, only Sniper and Han-D surpass that damage per attack. But Loader has something those three lack: attack speed with a built-in stunlock on the third hit.
And his fucking ulti. Holy shit. Chef can kill a worm if it uses his right? Loader can kill ALL worms on the map if he covers enough diagonal distance. It's one of the safest attacks on the game and the biggest "area of damage" by a mile.

Seriously, just think about it. Most characters can become great or straight up broken with a ring. But Loader is the only one that becomes literally (as in the real sense of the word) invincible with it.
And if that's not enough for you, his gauntlet let's you do the fucking spider-man around the map.

The reason i put chef above was because even though loader's shield is broken, I still find Chef has a higher DPS. And while his telephone poles do kill wurms pretty well at the start, their damage starts to fall off in late game because they only scale with crits. So while they can target the whole map you wont kill wurms fast enough, while chef still retains his wurm killing potential through the whole game.
Loader can get broken with reds, but I wouldnt rely on that. Games can go without reds for a while.

I believe the ability to deal with wurms and vagrant swarms late game is very important, because they're one of the only threats that really poses a possibility of a wipe(aside from cremators). I also forgot to mention chef is better at also dealing with vagrants since his cleavers pierce. Loader's Z technically can hit all the vagrants at once as well, but its risky to get close to stacked vagrants because red one will still damage you through your shield.

I usually scrub it out with standard Commando, but I'd like to know which of the characters I have is the strongest/best to use? (Singleplayer).

Also, trying to unlock Huntress. She any good?

Can Miner be unlocked in multiplayer? That's the only one my friend is missing.

Has a very useful ability with his invisibility, pretty sure it's the longest invuln in the game. With Lights Out you can chain invisibilities.
>Enforcer
Works well if you're not playing with elites. Otherwise, prepare to die. Sit against a wall, use your shield, spam the other abilities.
>Engineer
Find a /comfy/ spot and spam harpoons. Spam mines when enemies get too close.
>Sniper
Can do some very nice damage to single enemies but you should stack drills if you want to deal with groups effectively.
>Acrid
Spam Epidemic and use the sludge to slow enemies and escape. Don't focus on your basic ability.

huntress is super frail, she can barely take a hit
commando has low damage, he's really weak later in the game
bandit is good, but generally seen as a character only shitters play
engineer is good, but again doesnt take much skill
han-d is difficult to play but he snowballs quite well
sniper has the best damage in the game, reloading takes a while to get used to
acrid is great on singleplayer, solid damage and can take out groups
enforcer is a meme
