So now that umbral hearts reduce flare mp cost and it's possible to cast two flares with mp to spare, is it better to go fire2-fire2-flare-flare or just straight up skip to flare-flare? Flare doesn't give a fuck about how many umbral hearts are left, so as long as one umbral heart is there you can cast a second flare right after, but fire2 feels weak.

I like using just two flares more, fire2 feels like weak padding before the real damage comes in. You don't even need the padding for transpose cooldowns since you have thunderIV and blizzIV for that, even foul.

Sch would be alright if excogitation wasn't a glorified lustrate, fey union wasn't as clunky, had a longer range and wasn't subject to pet scaling and if the embrace nerf got reverted since it heals less than a regen now.


How to fix sch:

Revert embrace nerf
Revert adlo mp cost, leave succor as is to penalize our AoE healing like we had in ARR
Give us meltdown, a 150 potency AoE
Make fey union scale off the owner, increase its range to atleast 15y instead of the pitiful 10 it is now and make it castable like other fairy skills to avoid clipping.
Give us back bio 1 to avoid enormous amounts of clipping and a bit more AoE. Potency wise it matters dick all so it won't make our damage skyrocket.
Allow excogitation to be spread through deployment tactics to give it some differentiation from lustrate.

I recently got into this game a month ago and loved 1-50 but could not stomach my way through Heavensward and quit at level 55. I don't like the zones, they're bland and ugly. I don't like the music, it's slow dreary, annoying and doesn't fit a final fantasy game - especially the new main combat theme. The zones are annoying to navigate on foot and you can't really fly until you're done with the zone. It's also really awkward to hit 50, gets lots of cool looking gear in a matter of hours, then go right back to ugly looking gear. So really what that means is I'm stuck using the same gear models until max level because my transmog stuff looks way better. That's fucking boring. I want to play Stormblood but Heavensward fucking ruined it imo.

Bismark was water/wind and Ravana was fire/earth according to Unukalhai.

I am pretty sure in the triad Sephirot was earth/wind, Sophia was wind/lightning, and Zurvan was fire/ice, based on the attacks they used.

I have no idea what King Moggle is, and I don't think anything created by Nidhogg's eyes like Thordan and Shinryu have a specific aspect.

Anyway I think Susano might be lightning/water based on his attacks but I'm not sure about Lakshmi.

I think people fail to realize that having complex classes and complex encounters aren't feasible because players gravitate towards the easier classes then to deal with more encounter level work. Having simpler classes and then moving complexity to the encounters means that more players "click" with their class and trials can be more engaging. People don't always really enjoy messing up one part of your DPS rotation and then being unable to catch up because its that strict, look at how MCH is reliant on incredibly good Wildfire rotations for DPS and its the least played class due to it being so easy to fuck up timing wise.
Truthfully I think its something WoW does well but they do so many other things wrong and have 4 difficulties per PvE encounter its lost in the shuffle

So far it really isn't, and I'm at level 68. Alisae and Lyse are awful compared to the fantastic dynamic you had with Estinien, Ysayle, and Alphinaud. Not to mention how much more captivating it was adventuring through a high fantasy lands where extremely few other people had been, meeting fucking legendary millennia old dragons and shit. Ysayle's crushing sadness and Estiniens hatred were much more felt than anything I've seen from Lyse. It was a genuine fantasy world adventure, something that is almost becoming a forgotten thing now that every fantasy setting wants to be muh low fantasy GoT shit. The story of Heavensward from 3.0 to 3.3 was a better Final Fantasy story than any other FF game in well over a decade. I wont deny there is a lot of tedium just to get to that point, but fuck it was worth it for me.

I think SB would've been far more enjoyable for me if Lyse and Alisae had just stayed in Gyr Abania, and the entire Othard part of the story would've just been the WoL with Gosetsu and Yugiri from the beginning, and eventually Hien of course. Those characters are at least likeable and interact with each other well.

That's my piece, I'm gonna leave now before some nigger spoils me, but I really doubt SB is going to change my mind in the 2 levels of MSQ I have left. I've heard it gets exciting at the end but even so, the journey there is more important. I'm pretty disappointed after how much I loved HW's story and characters.

I enjoyed SB's story a lot, but I can't really say I disagree about Lyse and Alisae. Alphinaud, Estinien, and Ysayle had character arcs that were interesting and flowed very naturally.

If you didn't do Coil or read that little sidestory on their website, Alisae has no character arc at all. Lyse is just unsure of herself and it can be argued she doesn't even get over that. Her arc is basically 'Yda has been dead this whole time'.

I don't dislike either of them, but they were definitely not the high point that Estinien and Ysayle were.

That aside if it were merely a nerf to AoE damage I wouldn't complain. I could even give up Miasma 2 but why the hell are we stuck with Miasma and an instant cast bio II? It feels so wrong.

It used to be Bio II, Miasma, Bio, Bane, which was great, because the first two were hard casts and the bane ability followed the instant cast. And why does bane scale down to 80% potency when all the other AoE abilities scale down to 50%?

I don't hate the changes to shadowflare, making that instant makes casting it easier and the condensed damage is nice early in a pull when it is most effect. But it feels like scholar was carelessly fucked by changes to SMN and ACN in general, then tossed a few gimmicks at level 62+ as if to compensate. I don't think anybody who actually plays scholar would have thought those changes were a good idea.

I moved recently and now my ping for online games is fucked. Is it worth resubbing for Stormblood even if my latency is high?

Well, let's say those DPS numbers that get flung around are hard and fast true, and you're running two tanks, who I'm gonna guess MT is pulling 2000 and OT 3000, Samurai, Ninja, Bard, and Red Mage.

Embolden is up 1/6 of the time, and as an average provides 5% to physical classes and to the Red Mage, so essentially a net gain of 0.8% not accounting for burst periods. So roughly 21900 * 0.008, 175 DPS gain overall. So you're trading 25 dps loss for some flexibility that ideally wouldn't be needed - and that's with a mostly physical comp, if you were double caster the value would go down.

Not sure I understand the devs changes to tanks. Going back to STR scaling again is absolutely retarded. I think VIT/STR together worked fine, not sure why they would want to make tank accessories undesirable again. I'm not crying about doing less damage, but enmity generation won't be easy as dps gear up. Shitter RDM and SAMscum have already been single targeting and ripping stray adds from large packs despite 4+ flashes. Maybe it's just a few bad apple dps, but I've never had any problems before. On bosses, it only takes 2 shield oath RoH combos to secure hate for sword oathing, so I'm sure raid bosses wont be an issue. I'm just scratching my head about what their logic is behind the change, and wonder what tanking will be like later on once dps have 500+ more AP.
