Not to rain on your parade, but AI is easy peasy once you learn how they work. I beat Level 7 with Mechanica and Springman by never throwing out more than one arm, dodging their attacks, and only grabbing to counter their grabs. Having an electric ARM makes them a million times easier.

After having trouble I started playing more reactionary, throw out one arm to see what it makes them do, sometimes try and get them with the other arm based on what they do or use it to stop their punch or grab, never grab unless they appear to be completely unable to respond to it, etc. and it feels like luck more than anything that causes anything to actually happen. Sometimes I feel like I'm doing well like this and stopping their attacks and getting hits in and I look at the health and see they're barely scratched and I'm below half.

I got to round 4 on rank 7 before I gave up. The Ninjara seemed to be able to psychically predict exactly when I was going to throw a super, and block it at insane speeds. Even when he was throwing his ARMS out in a grab, they would almost teleport back to their original position to block. My reflexes just aren't that fast, I was only able to hit him with the super a few times even though I probably replayed the stage about 50 times before I gave up. Other than "git gud", I have no idea how to get around Rank 7 Ninjara, he's so fast and annoying which is ironically the exact kind of character I love playing as

If I can say one thing, it's that the AI is really, really good. Matches feel intense.

Matches with 25% sure are something. You can choose to turn win streak modifiers on or off if you host lobbies yourself though.

Personally I kind of like it though. Actually. Even though I didn't think I would.
I mean, it inevitably leads to some pretty bullshit conclusions where you are likely to lose against a player less skilled than you. But you get double and more of your coins when winning. Even if you lose eventually due to the modifier you still gain coins faster from it.
But it also means that more skilled players will rise in the lobby faster than others. So that even if you join a lobby late, if you play well enough you can still reach or even exceed the top scoring player. And that challenge is kind of fun.

But getting hit by some shitter once and losing because you only had 25% can feel kind of sour. But meh.
Perhaps there could have been a better handicap. But I don't think I am opposed to a handicap. That aspect I think I enjoy.

I like it myself as it kinda prevent anyone from being top dog for too long. The handicaps will get to a point where you're just going to lose if you take a single hit pretty much,and even vs a super shitter that can get nearly impossible. Then again it keeps the shitters feeling like they still have some chance to win, no matter how wide the skillgap really gets in the end. Sometimes bad people just need that one freebe win to feel like they can honestly do it and push forward stronger.

Finishing the grand prix on level 7 really helped me fill the gaps in my gameplay.
The AI is still just AI. You can predict it and exploit it. But I still want to commend the AI of the game.
The AI is more legit than I had expected. I am impressed.

Just beat lvl 4 grand prix. The match vs hedlock came down to one hit. I knocked an explisive towards him and made him dodge towards me where I sent him dodging into a corner with my first punch, dodged his counter attack, and hit him while he was cornered. It was awesome. And this music combined with the view of the city makes for a rewarding credits scene

Personally I struggled against Kid Cobra and his damn skate discs. I was not prepared with how to deal with those damned disks.
I've started to learn to take advantage of them while preventing the opponent from doing the same now though after having played online a bunch. But that level 7 Cobra dude wrecked my shit.
Then Twintelle roughed me up some. Not as much but still.
And of course lastly Max Brass and Hedlok. I had more trouble with Brass than Hedlok though but both kicked my shit in.

I feel like I learned a lot for it though.

Springman and Max Brass have whirlwind like forcefields they can unleash that can deflect punches.
When you activate your super all nearby arms are deflected.
And if you time your guard with the dash perfectly you can essentially go straight into the counter without even really guarding. So that might be what's happening.

Im still bad as hell, expecially with my fav(cobra), but when you manage to get a good counter, blocking one ARM and sliding under another feels just soooo rewarding.

Also, this game so far feels the most techical fightan I played in years.
Weeb fightan too often falls in the "you have to memorize a trizillion combos to play", while western fightan tend to be pure cancer when played competitevely.

Played this game with a bunch of normie friends today and everyone loved it(i was planning to play alone but somehow they got hooked)and I love how everyone played the game immediately so its incredibly accessible, but at the same time i feel it has an incredible depth to satiate my most competitive side.

As a Kid Kobra who dual-wields those, you just have to watch and predict your opponent like any match with any ARMS. For starters, you have control over both arms. you have controler over both the starting movement, mid movement and end movement.

but whatever, do what you prefer. Thats why they implemented every possible scheme, to give people the choice to play with what they are most comfy with.

i still have some issues with motion because its a pretty bizzare control scheme. Don't think i have ever played anything like that.

I've been struggling with Spring Man vs level 7 Hedlok for an hour now. I managed to beat it with Mechanica, but Spring's default arms suck against him. I want to clear all level 7s with defaults though.

I was using Ribbon Girl, I ended up sort of cheesing it, edging around the outside of the arena and just slowly wearing him down with punches to charge up the flurry, and then going in to use it, rinse and repeat. Also made sure to keep him above 25% health until I had a fully charged special to quickly finish him.

I've taken a round a few times by doing deflect into toaster at close range, and just doing rushdown like that, but he's still a pain. Nearly impossible to dodge his attacks, and even charging is hard because he constantly clips your arms when dodging until an arm break combo happens. The level 7 CPU in this game almost never misses your arms when you dodge.

How do you actually use Ribbon Girl's air superiority constructively? I've fought Ribbon Girls who I just can't hit, but when I play as her and jump around I feel like I'm not fucking doing anything, and the second I throw a punch in the air my height and momentum is gone and I don't get anything out of it, especially considering I don't think there's any way to have a charged punch in the air short of jumping asap after charging.

I'm trying really hard to get into this game, but the thing really turning me off is how curved punches are nearly useless. If you read that someone is about to dodge left, and you curve a punch to the left, it doesn't actually curve far enough left. As far as I can tell theres literally no way to punish a dodge, and theres virtually no reason to ever curve a punch.
