VR was a mistake

VR is a fad. It will die.
Fads always die. People always fall for them, notably motion controls. People just prefer the time tested method of sitting down with a controller or sitting at a computer with a keyboard and mouse. This won't change anytime soon.
These anons will shill it hard and the same anons will laugh at it years afterward and act like nobody ever cared about it.
I guess this is just human nature.
