I like the old design better visually, but they changed it for gameplay reasons, and her gameplay looks interesting from what little we've seen, so I'm willing to hold out judgement, I backed the game too, but I did it because I was interested in Mike's side, not the art side. That's why the speculation that the new Vasco design was made to incorporate traits from less popular characters is probably accurate, because characters like Antoine and Kaldi were definitely not that popular next to ones like Thorani, Naga Rider, Kampan, etc.

That's a no brainer, half of them were random concepts at time and was just done to grab attention, with three years most might as well get scrapped or redesigns that drastic in order to change gameplay or due to complexity like most games.
