Replay Arkham Asylum and play the rest in order.

Don't skip Origins. Don't get me wrong, I hate that game, but in the end it's basically an expansion pack to City and by playing it you'll never have to wonder if you missed anything by skipping it. Origins has fun boss battles, a really cool crime scene detective work system, and laughably easy combat (halfway through you get the shock gloves which instawin every melee encounter.)

Make sure you buy the GOTY edition Arkham City, the DLC is so, so worth it. If money isn't a huge object, buy Cold, Cold Heart for Origins, and definitely buy the season pass for Knight.
