Do you play video games to escape depression?
And how do you cope with video games and depression?

I use vidya like an addict uses drugs.
there's no curing depression, you don't learn to live with it either, you just endure it - and games can help distract you from it

Not really, maybe I'm a crazy person, but I find it pretty hard to enjoy vidya (or any kind of entertainment/distraction really) if I'm in a less than stellar mood

Yea this
If you're depressed the only thing that will help you is working out what you need to change about your life and how you approach it. There's no "escape"

Eveything good in life is a form of escapism from the existential dread desu.

The experience of depression is largely subjective and can be influenced by multiple factors.
Video games for me are nothing more but a temporary distraction usually just to pass the time in the mornings until the amphetamine starts kicking in.
Alcoholic beverages can also help. Sometimes. Maybe.

Playing vidya only makes it a million times worse.
You stop doing anything worthwhile and just play vidya which adds to the feelings of uselessness and existential dread.

How is a board entirely populated with crypto currency threads supposed to help this situation

You put money intro crypto, obviously.
