Honestly, I don't find it too farfetched the minisaiyans could go SSJ so easily.

If you are strong enough, and have enough ki control, it's not so unlikely that you could DIRECTLY STIMULATE your chakra points to unlock a higher state. Their base forms have already been proven to be fairly trained up; they just lacked the transformation advantage. From there, going SSJ2 isn't so big a deal when you realize SSJ2 isn't so much a new form as it is a powered up version of SSJ. Keeping in mind their base forms now are stronger than Goku/Vegeta's base forms where back when they were struggling to discover these things. Many times stronger, likely.

Discovering SSJ was a factor of being overtaken by one's passion. This commonly manifests as anger, but it's been proven it's not the only way. You know why Toriyama made the SSJ transformation? It wasn't some deep and intricately woven manipulation of the lore of Saiyans to create a more powerful version. Frieza had had multiple chances of reforming and had Goku showing his good side to him before and sparing his life all without showing even the slightest bit of chance of reforming unlike all the previous villains. Even when he was in hell he was still demanding shit and used Goku's weakness against him as leverage to be able to get another chance at his revenge once more despite having been sent to hell twice at this point trying it.

But they only reached the initial transformation on their own, not SSJ2, and at least theirs was somewhat explained by them having the same hybrid potential Gohan does and that they were the offspring of Super Saiyans, so they essentially inherited an increased transformation capability from their dads and proceeded to unlock it easily because of their hybrid status. The explanation could be a lot better, but at least it's somewhat there. Even so, you still need a fuckton of training in the normal Super Saiyan state to unlock the Super Saiyan 2, and Goten and Trunks never did so, so rightfully never attained the transformation. Caulifla, who is not a hybrid and not the offspring of a Super Saiyan, and who didn't even know the base transformation existed until that day, did both in like two episodes with the pretty outlandish sounding "tingle in your back" method, before the one who taught her the transformation in the first place, with not even an attempt at an explanation or an acknowledgement from the show (although the lack of acknowledgement could be due to U6 not knowing about the other SSJ levels). They didn't even give viewers the trouble of the shaky explanation they did for Goten and Trunks, and I think that's what people are complaining about. We just have to chalk it up to "lol U6 is different," which does work admittedly, but it sounds like even more of a lazy handwave than Goten and Trunks' explanation.

Also, if U6 Saiyans can transform from just being insulted, and they do in fact have tremendously greater potential and base power than U7 Saiyans, why isn't the U6 Saiyan world mostly inhabited by Super Saiyans now? They've never been really mad at another Saiyan before ever in their whole lives?

just like vegeta before he became a super saiyan. To vegeta becoming a super saiyan were things of legend so he never really tried since he thought it was impossible.

Universe 6 either didnt have the legend to begin with and never new they could or thought they could since even vegeta never had seen anyone do that in all his life till goku came around. And universe 6 saiyans are better of and not wartorn at all so have had less reason and inspiration to do so before.

Universe six saiyans seem strong by their own right still though essentially being super heros in that universe. Just that again they had could such a thing considered to be legend and had no real inspiration to do so.

and its not really about anger that allows them to transform but emotional and passionate outbursts. Which even if we just focus on super is shown simply when goku finds out how his family was killed during that time travel arc thing.

Cabba seemed to have no clue that super saiyan was even a thing till he saw someone else do it. Cause even in universe seven vegeta knew of the legend but thought it impossible. So even though he was strong and went through a shit ton of emotional bullshit he never tried to even do such a thing till he saw someone else capable of doing it.


Its not that they do not have what it takes inside them to become Super Saiyan. But more so that they have not even fathomed that such a thing was even a thing at all.

And then add to that if we take into account again when in DBZ vegeta sees goku as super saiyan. During that whole thing saiyans were subjugated under freiza and extremely war torn. That even then no one had been able to become a super saiyan. And that goku was only able to due it through his bullshit amounts of super duper training. I actually found Frieza's defeat satisfactory, since his failing to master the Golden form both shows his naivete in the art of training and the intrinsic flaw he's displayed ever since the Namek saga: he's too much the brute force of nature because he never had to be anything else to rule the universe, and concepts such as adapting to obstacles, strategizing using his forms, and learning and understanding ki and ki control are completely alien to him. But we've been led to believe this whole time that U7 Saiyans as a race are weak as shit compared to U6 Saiyans as a race; it's the only reason that can explain why Cabba is equivalent to DBS Vegeta in base form, without the aid of the special training Vegeta did, and why Caulifla and Kale achieved SSJ, SSJ2, and LSSJ in pretty much a day. The U7 Saiyans never achieved SSJ because they were simply too weak to do so and had no hybrid bonus. But U6 base Saiyans are apparently already way, way past Namek Goku's base power level as a race, which means that they don't need Goku's super duper training (which wasn't even intended to reach the transformation in the first place; it was only the Zenkai boost from the Ginyu debacle which gave Goku the power he needed). They're already strong enough. All they need is that initial uncontrolled emotional upheaval like Goku had on Namek or Vegeta had on that nameless planet, so how has no one experienced it?
