I reenact actually. Well made mail isn't that heavy especially when it's properly supported by a belt, and if you wanted you could put a mail shirt on and take it off again in ten seconds flat. If it's not properly fitted you can have some problems with the space for your head but you can unrivet a couple of rings and pop them off if that's a problem

That armor is a clear downgrade over Henry's. The helmet on it is so much fucking worst. Sure it looks cool, but it's never going to protect you as well as Henry's which is made for deflecting strikes.

He's had to hide his magic powers for most of his life, so he's more physical than other mages. Plus, he's a canon bloodmage, so his strength comes from his rage, not from books.
