What do you want from AC Switch?

>evolving friendship like before instead of instant best friends with animals
>more stuff to do at night
>bigger towns
>top down view instead of rolling log
>bring back the businesses in the town, no separate street
>>
>>378976539
I want the option to play an animal/custom character.
In addition to that I want multiple towns and better online.
>>
>>378976539
I WANT THE GAME TO
1)EXIST
2) REVAMP THE FORMULA WHILE STILL BEING SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS ANIMAL CROSSING GAMES
3) LOOK REALLY PRETTY

AND RELEASE THIS YEAR

>evolving friendship like before

This was never a thing, in GC they just had a lot of dialogue that made them sound like jackasses and since the kinder sounding dialogue was rarer people thought what you do. I would like to actually have your interactions with villagers have meaning though.
>>
>top down view instead of rolling log
no

but
>bigger fov
>choose your own town layout
>more town customization
>more things to do with villagers
>more ways to unlock PWP instead of just random chance

and this is just wishful thinking
>online towns you can share with friends, or an online hub where you can do more than just fish and catch bugs
>>
I've never played City Folk. Say hypothetically that it was portable, like the eventual AC Switch, was it better than New Leaf and Wild World?

I kinda want to buy it to see what a console AC can do
>>
>>378978202
no, new leaf would still be better than city folk. city folk was an extremely lazy addition to the series.
>>
>>378978202
>was it better than New Leaf and Wild World
no
it was wild world on the wii with a city
>>
>>378978202
city folk looked great in comparison to WW but is worse in terms of both graphics and gameplay to NL. it's so dull and repetitive. only fun if you hacked it.
>>
I'll list these in the order of what I consider important to implement.

1. Different regions to choose instead of being a coastal town all the time. That can still be a choice, but the ability to choose from a more forested town or a mountain town could be nice.

2. Along with different regions add in fish, insects, etc that are exclusive to these regions to better sell on the idea of visiting other people's towns.

3. Bring back small time events like town exercising as well as aesthetic changes to the town like the fish flag things that are set up around the town during the month of May in Animal Crossing.

4. Allow villagers to catch fish and bugs instead of just walking around aimlessly with tools.

5. An option to use roller skates or a bike. Other ways of getting around town wouldn't hurt any.
>>
>>378978202
City Folk is basically just a WW expansion pack.
>>
Let me date some cute animals
>>
>>378978202
CF felt more like a port of WW, but all the town events like Gracy were moved to a city.

I can't deny console AC is comfy af
>>
>>378976539
I want the whole villagers moving away be fixed. Make it so you can either "lock" your favorites into the town somehow so they aren't constantly asking to move or make them have to speak with the player and tell them they're moving before they can move.
>>
>>378976539
1-You can fuck the villagers
2-You can get fucked by the villagers
3-you can kick the villagers out of town
>>
Free online

Won't be worth getting because you have to pay for online.

Expand the friendship system. Make it to where you can actual hang out with your bro and do shit together, like fish, explore, or fucking drinking coffee together or something shit I don't know. Anything other than fetching fruit for them everyday.

I want Asia inspired cities, European cities, Arabic cities with beatiful architecture.
>>
>>378976539
- Give me jobs, I want to work in a restaurant and have cooking minigames to play. Also the villagers can get jobs too. think about it, the switch would be perfect for cooking minigames, you could use the joy cons as cooking utensils.

- Also I want huge towns, maybe apartment complexes. Room mates too.

- More things to do. In new leaf you ran out of things to do constantly and that really put a damper on things since you had to wait until the next day to anything.

- MORE CONTROL. Let me decide where villager move in.
>>
>>378979078
if you can't muster up $20 in a matter a 12 months, you should really reevaluate your life.
>>
>>378979310
It's not about how much money you have, it's about whether or not you're stupid enough to pay money for something that should be free just because they started randomly charging you for something that used to be free.

They don't need to charge money for it, they're just doing it because they hope that there are people stupid enough to pay.
>>

>"Toolbelt" feature that gives me a seperate inventory for tools so I don't have to waste inventory room on tools anymore.

>Have an option to make Villagers stop telling you basic tutorial stuff after the first month.

>"Best Friend" feature that lets you select one villager who will never move out. Have to get their picture first though.

>Toggle between the original top down camera from the first game and rolling log from all the others.

>Being able to choose what kind of town it is. Desert, mountain, tropics etc. each with their own selection of bugs and fish. So if you want to complete the museum you better make some friends. (But add a way to like trade fish and bugs with NPCs just to be fair to losers with no friends)

>Help Villagers expand their house by giving them bells. This will be another way to build friendship with them and so you won't feel like as much of a jerk for living in a mansion while everyone else is stuck with their one room house.

>Ask Villagers to do favors for you in the same way they ask favors from you. Such as Bugs/Fish/Furniture. But you can't ask them to catch a fish/bug that you haven't already caught and when asking for furniture you can only make a vague request like "something red". Also they can decline the task and the more rare the item you ask for is the more likely it is that they will turn you down.

I'd like to leave the town and have caves, forests, mountains and such to explore.

Some farming element would be neat. Maybe there could be a restaurant or grocery store in the town that you could sell stuff to.

A massive town with more villagers.

Make it where the player can buy as many saplings, bushes, and flowers as we want at one time. Make them stack on each other like fruit does to make them easier to carry.

Do you guys honestly think AC will get announced at E3?

Don't get my hopes up you guys, I'm just a normal guy that finds joy and comfort in Animal Crossing games
>>
>all the decoration and villager mechanics that HHD introduced
>including yards
>possibly just let us setup items anywhere we feel like it, seeing as it's been possible with hacks since the first game
>angled furniture
>N64/GCN AC levels of villager interaction and personality if not better
>for stores to be moved back into the villages
>special places like mainstreets to be more of an online lobby using nintendo's servers, similar to the island but without the stupid bullshit that is trolls keeping you from leaving or doing shit
>improved graphics, MK8 AC tracks are beautiful and show there's potential
>no more rolling log
>Larger villages, HHD had a variety of environments for a potentially massive village
>things like the caves that got cut, make the entrances spawn like the fake rock/fossils/pitfalls every day and include extra chances for gems and fossils in them, possibly an item set(s) exclusive to the caves

Another Animal Crossing Movie

You know Sony and Microsoft don't run servers, right?

You're lucky enough that Nintendo actually has first party games, and thus runs actual servers, but like, the idea that this money is actually going towards better servers is just a complete fabrication.
>>
>>378981764
Steam doesn't charge you for internet, you know.
>>
>>378983172
Not at all. I think it's a system seller and even if it's being made they won't unveil it until later this year to be released around the system's 1 year mark. There are enough big first party titles coming out this year that will bring or have already brought typical Nintendo fans onboard but they shouldn't play all their cards at once.
>>
>>378983194
Wai tup my nigga wait up, caves that got cut? Pls go into details
>>
After sinking a bunch of time into rune factory 4 I'd really appreciate some light farming/dungeon mechanics.
Actually I'd settle for just being able to ask villagers to follow you around so you could go fishing or catch bugs together.
I guess just more villager interaction that's not just giving them shit they ask for and getting presents from them
>>
>>378983172
We've been told that in the least more info about the mobile AC will be revealed. What that info actual in tells or if we'll actually get it is up in the air at this point. We've had previous cases of Nintendo telling us we'll have info coming for nothing to be seen till months later after they said we would get it.

Maybe you get on a computer in the mayor's office and lets you place them in the town like Happy Home designer.

Finally, outdoor furniture but that's all but confirmed

>>
>>378985357
New Lead is your best pick, but I do think Wild World has better aesthetic if you like pixel art, check out videos for both

It follows the 3DS clock, so shops will be closed after 10, for example
>>
>>378976539
I want something I think is completely reasonable, because it's been built up to for quite a while now.

Animal Crossing DS added the Island you can travel to.

Animal Crossing Wii added the City, which was basically a 2nd static town full of shops and random villagers walking around.

Animal Crossing 3DS brought back the Island better than before, changed the City to a more general and convenient connected area of extra shops, and added an RV park for Amiibo you can go to.

I think Animal Crossing Switch could be CALLED "Animal Crossing Switch" and have a simple gimmick: Instead of living in the village and being allowed to visit the areas like the City, Island, and RV Park, you can Nintendo Switch which place you live in. Flesh out all 4 areas to around the level of the Village, which isn't much to ask for a console-level game, and then give the ability for a character to own 4 "domiciles", a Village House, an Island hut, a City Apartment, and an RV home. Then you just go to a domicile you own and sleep in a bed there, and BAM: you will wake up and start the game from that location until you sleep in another domicile. Currently you have to wake up, travel to the Island by boat, go through the little shit, and THEN start fishing/beetle hunting requiring a trip back to the Village every time you fill up, making a 2-way trip every time. With the new system you could just stay on the island the whole time, and it would probably have some drawbacks like slightly lower selling prices and small buying options, but it would be cool.
>>
>>378985357
The game clock and 3DS clock is the same, so if your console have the correct hour the game will go along the real time.

Aka: if it is night IRL it is night in the game, the music changes depending on the time of the day too, so there is a night theme, a day theme etc...
>>
>>378979078
If the only game you play online is Animal Crossing you really don't need online, or a Switch for that matter.

Personally I'll be playing a good dozen games online. At $20 a year it's completely reasonable, Mario Kart and Splatoon are both going to get constant play, and Smash will too when it's out.
>>

It's likely. Nintendo's biggest "not yet on Switch" series are Smash and Animal Crossing, they'll announce at least one of them. It'll come either way, Animal Crossing is one of Nintendo's top IP right now with well over 10M sales on the last entry, and even the shitty spinoff HHD got like 3M sales within 8 months. It's a matter of time, they skipped the WiiU but there's no chance they skip the Switch unless they're somehow already making a game for the 3DS successor, which is highly unlikely.

No. There are totally games with end goals and timers, but with Animal Crossing it's designed to last forever. For example Stardew Valley is a similar game, but it has a goal of restoring the town through some magic faerie bullshit, and when you restore the town the credits roll. In Animal Crossing the credits roll when you sit at your town tree after a full year real-time has passed, but that's more of a formality because it's no goal or ending, just a way to fit credits into the game. There are totally goals, but they take forever to reach and you can come up with new ones forever. First you want to clean up the town, then be friends with everyone, then catch every kind of bug and fish, then maximize your money and housing and furniture, ect ect. You have no real goal, often when I play I just wander around.

I think you mean "converted into a Switch game". You know, like BOTW, except they won't even bother releasing it on WiiU because the console is dead and they have no obligation to make a WiiU AC like they did with Zelda.

Boy I could have used this when I stupidly cut down every tree in town, I wanted to make them all cedar trees to make it look like a dense forest (Then I learned that those trees didn't grow further south of town)

I don't understand why they limit the amount of trees and other such things. It's so annoying having to accumulate a lot of them.

Also, I want dead spaces to be done away with. The only stipulation there should be for whether a tree will grow or not is for there to be a free space on each of its sides.

They fucked up by making a less than stellar console, releasing less than stellar games for it, and doing a less than stellar job of marketing. What they should have done was just make a good console in the first place.
>>
>>378992258
>Wanting a home console version instead of a portable version
But why though? Animal Crossing has shown with both WW and NL that portable is the way to go with this type of game since it's much more suited to pick up and play.
>>

Give me $20 right now poorbaby. You're willing to throw it away for literally nothing, might as well give it to me.

I feel like a modern Animal Crossing game should have some phone integration. Don't really know how to do it, feels like most of the game would have to be avaible there, what would be left for the console version.
But at least doing regular chores should be possible on your smartphone. Maybe leave the advanced options for the console version. But can't imagne what that'd be.

That's not what I said. I said
>but why didn't they just make a good console tho
The Wii U was weak in terms of technical power and it had a gimmick nobody was interested in, not to mention there was a lot of confusing at the beginning about whether it was supposed to be a sequel to the Wii or something, and it had a weak lineup coming out of the gate. They made a lot of mistakes when conceiving the Wii U and its failure is on them, not the consumer.

It's not autistic, a game like this on phones would sell as much as Pokémon go if not more. Nintendo would be genius to combine these two, but nintendos too retarded to make good decisions.
>>
>>378996062
>I feel like a modern Animal Crossing game should have some phone integration.
It fits the series, but they basically went with Amiibo instead. They had the e-reader thing, which could have evolved into a phone app, but instead it evolved into the concept for Amiibo so a phone app isn't that likely. If Miitomo didn't exist I could see it, but the two are sort of incompatible.
>>
>>378997154
>Nintendo would be genius to combine these two, but nintendos too retarded to make good decisions.
More like "Nintendo would prefer to have people know THEM instead of some shitty app, and they prefer to own the economy instead of be a slave to it".

If they did apps they wouldn't make money off of consoles or hardware, and they certainly wouldn't get 100% of the profit like they do now. What do Apple and Google take from profit of games, like 20%? That's no chump change for a billion dollar company.

I just want a new AC so I can have a reason to force myself to practice reading Japanese.

AC for GameCube did so much more for my English comprehension ability than school ever did, so repeating the process with a new language is going to be comfy.

I like the rolling log perspective, but it would be nice if it were a bigger log, and more of a sphere than a log.

Other than that, I would like more townspeople, a LOT more renovations to do to the house, I would love to see the return of NES Classics (never gonna happen) and one thing I have always wanted was for the opportunity to have connected towns to the north, east, and west. Not like player towns, but NPC towns that you can go to with other shops with new shop keepers that arent the Nooks.

Again, we are just gonna get New Leaf with incremental improvements, but its fun to wish.

Why is Nintendo like this?
I'm serious, what do they gain from not making a bigger, better game?
>>
>>378998217
You sound cute wanna date?
>>
Would there be any downside to having an Animal Crossing with a full 3D perspective rather than pseudo-overhead?
>>
>>378999820
It costs less to make which means they make a bigger profit if it sells well than they would otherwise.
>>
>>378999820
>I'm serious, what do they gain from not making a bigger, better game?
A lot. The more you change something, the more risk is involved. Bitch and moan all you want, but New Leaf sold 11M units, making it the top selling 3DS game that doesn't have the word "Pokemon" or "Mario" in the title by a massive margin. Note that the next game down on that list would be Tomodachi Life, which sold under 6M copies, basically half of New Leaf.

Why would they fix something that isn't broken? Note that the Pokemon games and Mario games do the same "change little" thing every time, and they're always extreme sellers. Don't blame Nintendo for not taking the risk, blame consumers for not rewarding the risk. People will auto-buy new Pokemon and Mario titles, but just pirate or ignore other shit, and THAT is why you don't see enough innovation anymore.

I'd LOVE this! If towns were like twice as big and villagers and PC were allowed a front yard they can customize to their liking.

My dream Animal Crossing game:

>Allow you to make a black or genderless character
>Be able to equip weapons and armor and have a level up system
>Put a forest or locations you can explore to fight monsters for bells and EXP
>Keep the same amount of total villagers that New Leaf had, GC AC had too much
>Not be the Mayor anymore; too much work, I'd like to go back to being just a villager like everybody else

Zelda and Mario are both series that get many games though. They didn't abandon making basic formulaic games like Zelda ALBW or NSMB2 and NSMB WiiU, they just have enough resources to make the basic games AND extra "new" games for those huge series.

City Folk was dope, best in the series until it got BTFO by New Leaf.

I'm worried Nintendo are pushing 3DS still with the new 2DSXL and with the update for New Leaf sometime last year.

The Switch is too perfect for Fire Emblem, Pokémon, Animal Crossing. I honestly think this console we'll see all of Nintendo mascots come out of the woodwork.
A real Metroid game, as well as a new addition to F-Zero.
E3 and the next few years can't come soon enough.
>>
1. Split-screen Multiplayer, each player gets a Joycon. It's something I think they missed out on with City Folk.
2. Own a Business. Either as part of your house or as a separate building. Restaurants, General Stores, Hotels, Theatres, maybe even Greenhouses or Farms. Could be the gimmick of the game, like being the Mayor was for New Leaf. Villagers and other players come visit, and you can make money from it, and expand it for bigger areas or better furniture or stuff to do.
3. More stuff to do outside of "Daytime in the Summer". More winter shit besides catching pillbugs and shitty fish, some shops open at night when Nook is closed.
4. Expand the Museum. As the 5th game, maybe add a "Heritage" wing, which is full of stuff from previous games (Town Square Models, City Skyline Pictures, NES games, etc.) or antique items from the town's early years. These can be found throughout the game randomly, and you have to "restore" them before you can donate them.
