The feedback of MNK is overblown, the new abilities/traits fix many of their problems.

Passive generation of chakra fixes TP issues and a raid CD gives them some utility, they are also the only class with mantra now.

Riddle of earth gives you less chances to lose GL3 making them more friendly with downtime.

Riddle of fire is sort of eh, but isn't a gamebreaker. Potentially increases the value of SS by quite a bit in addition to passive chakras.

My only disappointment is no free way to cast tornado kick, but the CD was also lowered to 10s for some reason and I don't know why they would do that unless there is some change we are missing.

Not really, hypercharge got nerfed but now it's 'merely' just as good as other job's raid dps cooldowns instead of being twice as good. Bard got hit much harder in the raid dps contribution department.

The biggest nerf is losing lead shot as spammable 490 potency dot was amazing for multidot situations. We have no chance in hell of matching a bard in that situation now that their spammable dots are 670+570 potency.

Not so much management, just many fights would starve a MNK of TP if they could stick to a boss long enough (A9S) and there wasn't much you could do about it. Especially if any aoe was involved. With all melee getting goad now and purification being free to cast with chakras, in addition to the removal of ToD and fracture you'll be spending a lot less TP overall.

Honestly I'd like to try a skillspeed build on MNK in SB to get back to that level of TP usage, except with much less worry of running out of TP.

Internal release and SCH buffs are a lot of free crit, and bootshine always crits too. More SS to offset the downside of riddle of fire and getting more gcds out in general might be more valuable than just stacking crit itself. Of course if that isn't the case and crit is still #1, we might be replacing det with SS as our go-to secondary stat.

They have two types of mana: black and white. They build these mana using spells then spend them on melee attacks then use a big spell after their melee combo. When they cast a spell with a cast time it they get to cast their next spell instantly. Depending on the big spell they use after the combo they'll end up with more black or white magic and they need to alter the spells they use based on that

Forbidden had to get a potency nerf for how often it will be cast compared to now.

Raid damage buff is 5%, but that's 5% damage for everyone and not just one type of damage. A portion of that CD's damage is also funneled into the MNK through chakra, so it's more of a DPS increase than you think.

Overall potency nerfs are are a bit sad, but I'm chalking it up to just general balance changes.

Only counting normal combos, Riddle of Fire is a DPS loss. It's only with oGCDs that you can get a DPS gain out of it, and I'm pretty sure they don't intend for you to dump all your oGCDs then turn it off, so I suspect it will change.
