Well I think the dumbest thing I've ever done in regards to that was with Guilty Gear Revelator's story with one of my friends. We were in a call together and somehow we got on to the topic of what's going to happen to Bedman in the next game. Will he be playable, be replaced by someone or what,etc. etc.

as each year passed I kept learning more story spoilers either by accident or while discussing mgs online or just thumbnails on youtube and so on, to the point that when I finally got a cheap ps3 to finally and solely play mgs4, I already knew everything about it, nothing about it was new, nothing, I don't know why I bought it but I like to convince myself that I just wanted some closure. I started to despise mgs4 because of that and not because of the story in the game.
