There's no real protagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles X, unless you count your created character. Celica isn't super important to the plot, and she only uses knives and floating arm cannons to fight. She's easily got the lowest damage output of any character in the game.

If Xenoblade gets another character, it'll probably be Elma or Cross (your playable character) from X or Rex and Homura from 2.

I disagree completely on L-cancelling, but jump momentum and a VERY SMALL bit more shield stun would be good. The strength of shield is the only thing that makes most characters viable instead of having the S-tier cliff like in Melee.

I have a problem on the frame data of particular moves rather than it in general, for example they nerfed the hitbox to shit on Dedede's bair and made Falco's aerials the fucking slowest in the game as opposed to having the best (other than Meta Knight) in Brawl, what the fuck is up with that? They also took away Pit's wing-dash cancelling which could have been really cool. They turned Mewtwo into a dynamic, top tier character from being shit with minor changes, and could do the same with other characters if they wanted to. The metagame is still developing, but some characters just have lag frames on otherwise solid moves for no reason, it often doesn't even promote balance in the character
