Midna from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, my first playthrough. It helped that my name was over Link's because I was like 15 at the time.

I get halfway through the game and she asks if I'll stay with her, and I realize that I'm head-over-heels.

Now, this was my cousin's copy of Twilight Princess, and she lived a full state over, so I didn't get to finish it, or even play it again for 6 years.

I was having a shitty time mentally, so I feel like that factored greatly into my falling in love with a fictional character.

I've since dug myself out of the hole I was in when that was going on and now I'm learning something I'm passionate about at college with an amazing girlfriend. The depression/anxiety/paranoia is down to being just episodic too. But goddamn if I still don't think about my first love sometimes. I didn't at first, that is, immediately after I got over her, but now that I'm with my girlfriend, she pops up in my thoughts in a really comfy way. It's like a very subtle kind of comfy now, like I'll always have a special place in my heart for my first love. Like a relationship that parted on mutual, good terms.

I feel kinda pathetic about it when I talk about it sometimes only two other sousl on earth know about it lmao and you guys too i guess but I feel like if anyone understands, it's you guys. Looking back, I know it wasn't healthy and it definitely fucked me up in the head, given how far I was into it. Do I regret it? Not for a fucking second.

While I don't think there's anything wrong with having a waifu or husbando, I would venture to say that 9 times out of 10 it is acting as a coping mechanism for something else. Am I projecting? A little, so take that with a grain of salt. Anyway, from someone who's been in it, to anyone who's going through it, much love, it's gonna be okay. <3

I for one appreciate her lead up to joining the PT. She was used as a tool by the principal to try to find the OT, even going as far to 'motivate' Makoto with suggesting that his good word would imoact her future, and even undermining Makoto's esteem by bringing up how effectove her sister is. And holy fuck her sister is hard on her for no reason other than Makoto is a convenient punching bag for when work is rough. The student body have little confidence in Makoto because the principal is telling her to ignore them and do only what he wants.
I relate with this kind of conflict, where you have to choose between impressing powerful people or maintaining personal integrity, where nobody appreciates you for your own strengths and reminds you of the shadow you live in. It sucks.
Makoto deciding to blackmail the PT was a desperate action to solve the issue that concerned her most while still being able to be a good lapdog as a plan b. Getting herself and the PT under Kaneshiro's thumb was also a desperate move to fulfill the promise she made to the student body to stop the scams hitting them.

Her awakening was done just right. It's where she chose to go all out on doing what she believed in and not continuing to live life as a weasel with no backbone just to stay in favour of a few crappy people.
