Infinite's gameplay is poor and never comes together in a cohesive way. The same can be said of the story; it's thematically muddled with little that actually manages to come together in a satisfactory way.

2 continues themes established in 1, notably the question of free will and what it means to "choose," Rapture itself being an entire society which was intended to be a validation of the notion of committing to one's choice, eventually becoming a condemnation. 3 Was really pretentious and tried really hard but my heart sank when you time skip and saw how her as an elderly lady. The expansions were kinda dumb and really ruin the plots of 3 and 1, but they still added to the experience with call backs here and there that I remembered. If anyone that hasn't played 1 or 3 asks what to start with, start with 1. 1 Is the better game over all, 3 just has a better story that is hit or miss depending on how much you get invested into it.

But when you put the game down, and the years have passed, what you remember most isn't gameplay, but story. And I sure as fuck remember 3's story a lot more clearer and vividly than 1's.

1 = 8/10

Infinite is TERRIBLE. It completely removes the exploration and turns every level into the same thing

Walk down a pathway reloading and regaining health.
Enter a shooting gallery area. If you die it doesn't matter because money is worthless in the game and items are everywhere. Enemies don't even respawn when you die.

And all the powers do the same shit. There's a long distance attack, and a trap you can place. They all do the same shit.

Infinite is the most overrated piece of trash of all time and literally only got praise because of its theme of fighting facism and giving you a waifu.

Didn't give a shit about anything that happened in the first Bioshock, the reveal had no emotional impact on me whatsoever.

Bioshock 2 was a bit better regarding building up your daughteru personality and the endings reflected her way of thinking.

Bioshock Infinite is the best one. The story is pretty good (inb4 shitposters trying to fit in) the characters actually grew up on me (at the very least, I wanted to fuck Elisabeth really bad, so that's more tan I can say for the rest of the characters in the series, who didn't evoke an emotional response on me whatsoever) and the twist blew my mind, artstyle was fucking amazing (still one of the most beautiful games to look at). Gameplay was alright, it did it's job connecting one bit of narrative with the other.

Most of the shock games have fairly poor stories, going all the way back to system shock. They also usually had the sense to not focus on what was happening in the story, but rather have you focus on piecing together what happened to lead up to the current events. Infinite made the fatal mistake of placing the entire spotlight on the story and main characters, making it impossible to ignore how atrocious they were.

Minerva's Den is actually the best. Great story,characters,combat and length.

Yeah, that's exactly it. Shock value is what is going for, and it worked with me for a time, until I started thinking about it.
Even ignoring the uninspired and repetitive gameplay, the non-existing level design, the undeveloped gimmicks like the hook or the Tears (and Elizabeth as a whole for that matter), the incredibly confused and aimless themes and braindead narrative you have to deal with a story that starts relatively good, but has a completely non-sensical and self-contradicting ending that anyone who thinks it's good simply hasn't really thought about the fuck it actually works.
It's flashy, it's unexpected and it will mindfuck you for a while as you try to figure out what the fuck just happened, but after that shock value is gone and you've gathered the pieces, there's only cheap writing left.

I don't even hate the game, it's just mediocre at almost everything it tries to do, but still done in a way that will appeal to the impressionable audience (and I know that because I was there too for a while). The art is very nice by the way, probably the only really good thing about that game.

Unlike Bouncers which were fast and used melee attacks and Rosies that used their hitscan Rivet gun, Rumblers were too easy to cheese against as Telekinesis ensures you can easily take little to no damage from them and return great amount of damage against them.
