Automata does nothing different. It doesn't approach the themes it presents in any meaningful or unique way. It just walks the same ground as countless other works and presents no new or interesting discussion points. Automata says absolutely nothing we haven't heard a million times before.

We discussed the games flaws at length in nearly every thread post release. Yes, some of that discussion even happened in those "2B's butt" threads you probably ignored just by face value of the OP. I'm very willing to admit some of my complaints with the game as well if you were to ask. But some of the complaints being thrown around are so blatant of people just trying to go against the grain. I took it as more of a "find your own meaning through yourself and your will instead of some externally-assigned purpose" message rather than a straight-up denial. A2 was arguably already there, but 2B and 9S are put in a position where all they previously knew was meaningless, the organization which made them and gave them false purpose is gone and they're left more or less alone and independent to find their own way.
