I think the Chrono Trigger inspiration was fine, it's battle system is clearly based on it. It's just that people saw the name "Chrono Trigger" and assumed that inspiration was something throughout all of I Am Setsuna, when it wasn't.

I felt the price tag was reasonable, it's a 20 hour game, 30 if you do all major side content. Not long for a JRPG, but reasonable length. But that's looking at AFTER having played it. I get why some would be reluctant to buy it based on visuals, reviews, the fact it's digital only over here and the pricing.
