I drink around 30 to 70g of alcohol on weekends.
Occasionally I play games while doing so, mostly Rocket League while voicechatting with a friend.

Once you get above 20% ABV, hardly anything really tastes good. As you said, it goes down easy enough (easier than Buffalo Trace, god damn is that stuff turpentine) and has an okay vanilla-y taste, but after that night I've lost all interest in drinking it again.

I wound up drinking half the bottle that night, watching John Wick, stumbling into the bathroom to throw up, and when I woke up Donald Trump was president.

Let's say your drink has 20% alcohol volume percent. If you drink 100ml of it, that's 20g. Now you have to multiply it by 0.8 because of the density difference to water and voilà, you have the amount of alcohol you drank, which is 16g.

Overall, very pleasant.

First time I smoked I didn't feel it. Second time, it was mindblowing laughter, everything was funny, laughed so hard it hurt.

As I smoked more, I spent more time trying to kinda unpack it and pick it apart. The coolest thing for me is the perspective shift I have. When you go about your day, the way you process information is incredibly optimized. You tend to look at the same things, gloss over certain details.

Pot for me offers kind of a reset on that. I start to look at things I normally ignore, and think about things in a unique way. For instance, taking a shower. Upon entering the shower I realized I have never thought about how to optimize my shower, or the reasoning behind the order I follow. Then I realized despite living in the same apartment for 4 years I've never looked at the ceiling, only caught it in my peripherals. Another big problem is you start on long thought chains or conversations, and you will forget where you came from. You could have started on talking about male female relationship dynamics, and now you are talking about nietchze, but you have no recollection of that first topic. It throws you off, makes you feel weird you cant remember something that happened 5 minutes ago, and you let go of the idea.

Since I got a SNES as a little kid I loved video games. They were my favorite past time. I got older and slowly lost interest in gaming, along with all my other hobbies. I just figured I was "growing up" but since realized that it was just my depression taking the fun out of everything in life. When I smoked weed, I was able to relax, forget my problems, and suddenly I was able to enjoy playing games, reading, and writing, just as much as I always did. So weed doesn't necessarily enhance gaming for me, it enhances life in general.

Stuff I've felt, corroborated by my pothead friend:

Time can get a bit screwy. You don't actually experience time differently a la slow motion or shit like that, but your internal reckoning of time is skewed. Your "gut feeling" of how much time has passed will disagree with what you've actually experienced.

Various sensations, i.e. touch, taste, are much more acute. Sometimes the sensation can be a bit overwhelming; in one case I was eating and I swear I could feel the food actually moving down my esophagus, etc.

You'll either get very quiet, very loud, or both. It has a tendency to "put you in your head," i.e. all the little mental scenarios and what-ifs you run in day-to-day life become much more involved. If I'm not careful I'll just sit quietly and have entire "conversations" with mental versions of the person/people I'm with.

Conversely and somewhat paradoxically, it also makes you more open(I'd say "less insecure" basically, so kind of like alcohol I guess but on a deeper level). This very often has the effect of making everything seem very absurd/funny because you're not viewing it through the usual restrictive lens/defense mechanisms. So you'll start talking very frankly about things(aka rambling) and laughing a lot.

For me personally, I've noticed it'll sometimes bring out old memories out of nowhere that I had no idea were still in my brain. In general it seems it can be useful for activating parts of your brain that you don't normally use, i.e. looking at things with a different(albeit still "you") perspective.

Did you know Ubisoft and other Europe based AAA publishers work closely with universities to get freshly graduated students to work for them for cheap and then let them go about a year later after a game is done to make room for that year's incoming graduated students?

I get hyper sensitive and hyper aware to stuff going on inside my body. Last night I got high as fuck and started stretching my muscles and it felt amazing, I could intensely feel my muscles. Stretching them felt like I was "unlocking" my super tense muscles. Felt very rejuvenated when I woke up this morning.
The other side of that is that any sort of pain seems to pull in all your attention, which you can then start to interpret as the most terrible things. I once started feeling a kind of tingling sensation in random spots in my body and thought that there was a kind of bubble or clot in my blood that was traveling through my body and was scared it would get lodged in my brain and kill me or something.

My experience is probably not as thoroughly horrific as yours, but no less disgusting in how it makes me feel because holy shit is hindsight 20/20. I went to college without understanding jack-shit what I wanted to do, between my parents pushing the "any non-engineering degree is burger-flipping" meme and my own general anxiety towards the topic, I decided to take the advice of a friend and go to college for Biomedical Engineering.

Biomedical Engineering, for a guy that's shit at math. Needless to say, I dropped out of that major by Sophomore year and picked up Political Science because lol. It wasn't a degree I could see myself doing anything with, so between that and my own hyper-autism at stereotypical stress stuff I more or less shut myself out of society and started taking online courses to keep up the illusion that I was still a college student to mom and dad.

It was my 5th year (Senior+) when I realized I actually opened up to my roommates, hanging out with them and shit. It was also 5th year when I discovered my true passion was in History, and I was not only fucking good at it but I wasn't actually that scared of only making 50-60k a year working in a Museum or for the University (Hell, I found the prospect exciting.) I wasn't able to go on an archaeological dig with my Byzantine Professor in the Cyclades for artifacts, but that was entirely due to money and nothing to do with my own holdups. So here I am, 5 years later, a washed-up NEET living with my parents, who not only failed to even get a fucking degree, but at the very end not only had a taste of what college life is really supposed to be, but realized what I could have majored in and walked down that aisle with pride.

I'm tempted to blow my brains out after seeing my brother married next week.
