Everytime I play co-op it's a mediocre and somewhat laggy experience dominated by people just speedrunning the game. I might reinstall if there's a populated server up.
Does the research give levels or skillpoint equivalent? So if it takes 2 skill point to level a skill, how many levels does a research with +2 give?
>>376377797
Research bonuses give flat points to a stat.
Those points do count towards increased costs so it's best to save them for last if you want to maximize your gainz.

Why is E.Y.E.'s aesthetic design so much better than every other game?
Hey guys, I was playing eye with some buddies, and for some reason when I booted it up the fucking models were gone, and I got that weird fucking purple checkerboard texture.

It shouldn't be that hard, most of them are just generic soldier types and not much harder than the "annihilate the Jian squadron" tasks you occasionally get in the side missions, just blast away with a good long range weapon. The really nasty ones areRimanahand his cronies, those can and will turn you into pulp amazingly quickly while tanking tons and tons of shots, but that's why you have the gate spell.

akshully you can cast invocate/dragon breath onthe big Rimramslimslamjimjamsince they didn't give him psi resist, then save your HP that would have been eaten by the gate for not dying or casting it on his buddies that might have psi resist, I don't remember

Why does EYE have so many good weapons goddamn.
I still want to see more weapons though, like the focused laser beam rifle the enemies can get and some other weird shit
>>376396453
Essentially, the enemies marked by the objective icon are the nasty ones that will summon an assload of superpowered buttbuddies and blow you away with 10 miniguns aimed in your general direction. Remember that shiny new spell your mentor gave you? Try using it on those guys, it works wonders. Everything else should explode into red mist with the usual frequency.
>>376396567
you are such an asshole and i love you.i meant the original though.
my favorite thing about EYE threads is that they are some of the only threads where shitposting and dumb images mix into the discussion of the game perfectly.
some of these shitposts can quite literally be a canon within the EYE universe
>>376396679
Some metastreumonic weaponsoutside of the lore that facere mortis are made from meta partswould be neat too, like a globby arm that throws fireballs, some kind of disguise that makes certain types of enemies non-hostile, a giant not-arrancadora hammer, or a rocket launching gatling gun. Things like being able to pick up and throw NPCs with 120 psi, or conjuring up physics objects to build with/throw/break out of the playable area with would add another decade of replayability to what's already there.
>>376396883
Here's hoping we see such things in EYE 2
Can someone post that webm of a helicopter getting back stabbed?
>>376396963
no, no such webm has ever existed throughout the history of our illustrious threads

>>376397230
don't be silly, there's the death tree stand-ins, the broken stone steps, and the big curved structure with holes in it
How much content is there in this game? I've been wanting to really dive deep into a big single player game lately.
>>376397575
hey man im just wondering. in my faulty memory there is a piece that looks even more like that. but as i said, faulty memory. i do not want trouble, EYE threads are friendly places.
>>376397642
once you play you will never escape. metaphorically and some what literally.
>>376397642
There's somewhere close to a dozen maps for the main campaign, some of which get near the max dimensions for source maps, then there's coop/side mission only maps that are fairly small but are arguably nicer in terms of design than some of the hueg maps.
Expect ~10+ hours for your first solo run, with the time decreasing a little bit with subsequent runs, though some of that is from trying to explore every nook and cranny and not having high level cyberlegs/high agility.
>>376392264
This amuses me
>the spell is literally just a whole lot of copypasta compressed into one burst
>>376397839
I ask for forgiveness insofar as trouble is concerned. Admittedly I was a tad hasty in dismissing your claims because I have not seen any Moebius art to try and compare the dream to, though I appreciate you bringing up and sharing his works.
>>376397870
oh okay, that's less than I was expecting from the way I've heard people talk about it, but that's fine. Still going to play it. I've had it sitting in my library for a couple years but never got around to it until now
>>376398115
The vast majority of the length comes from dicking around in coop/battle royale and repeating the cycles either for more gate spells and the true ending or brouzoufif you really get into it, there's another untold amount of hours to squander making maps for it
>>376398271
Have people even made many custom maps for eye? I don't think I've ever come across them.
Been playing for a few hours and am really enjoying myself, but I'm having trouble with the story. It has interesting ideas, and I want to get into it, but the translation is just so bad. Maybe that's part of the charm for some people, I don't know. I'm just really hoping something clicks for me soon.
The art style is fucking amazing though.
>>376398414
The only custom map I've seenand usedis the brouzouf/research/xp farming map.
>>376398098
apology accepted my Culter brother. Moebius inspired a lot of EYE and you should definitely check out his work The Technopriests. The similarities are endless.
Sometimes someone comes along and dumps it. Or at least they did in/cyg/
>>376398271
battle royale is probably one of the biggest developer trolls ever. getting moral wounds and losing experience points from my single player character playing multiplayer is so insane i can't even be mad at them.
>>376398414
there are a few. the most famous one being the cathedral with spawning waves for large brouzouf gaining sessions.
>>376398524
honestly i would suggest just completely admitting to being lost in the story. it is confusing and contradictory because of the translation and on purpose. its part of the charm. you just have to embrace it. once you embrace thecylesi think you'll appreciate it more.
>>376398554
yeah that one too. it is sometimes mandatory when playing through the game again. especially if you change HDs because NO CLOUD SAVING
>>376398414
Sermons and Sector 08or 07? it's on Streumon's website somewhere, fuckhuge New Eden-esque cityare pretty good.
The cheat map is for once you've finished all your cycles, got all the achievements, and have level 9 cyberwhatever but you want to push it up to 10 and can't fill out that last row of researches, otherwise it's 200% haram
>>376398705
i do not agree that the farming map is haram but will admit that sermons is a more honorable and fun way to farm.
>>376398687
dude bioregens I-V lmao
i must leave my EYE brothers, but i will leave you with this parable so i may check back when i return and the thread is dead.
what do you guys think where some of the things you and dutch did to pass the time when they were stuck in that ship for a thousand years?
https://youtu.be/ndi3QUnsF8o?t=297
It's amazing how you can glitch through big parts of missions while still not breaking them by just wallbanging people in the areas you are not suppose to be able to visit yet.
I've used methods in this speed run to burn through the game 3 more times for all the gates in ~1h each run.How Jian am I?
>>376398928
nigga the way it's worded suggests the ship was stuck for a hundred years but you, Dutch and Mentor happened to pop in for however long it took to get shit done, not that you were stuck on it forevereven though you probably were

>tfw nobody knows how to fix New Eden so once someone inevitably shoots mentor it turns into a massacre that makes battle royale look lethargicnot jian in the slightest, to go fast is to be Culter

I know a similar feel

>"these are kinda neat but they sure do get in the way a lot"
>discover the button to order minions around
>suddenly 7 scrabs roaming the map raping, pillaging, and shitting without flushing.
>>376399178
What do you mean "fix" new eden
>>376399415
Once you turn Mentor hostile by shooting him or the door jobber, you normally can't complete the mission and either DEJA VU or wander around for hours until the guy with 10 hp eats up all the resurectors. Then someone does it again for fun.
By fixing it I mean skipping all of the back and forth you do for Mentor (and subsequently all of the funny business/suffering your trigger happy coop partners are willing to inflict upon you), turning a >20 minute romp through a megapolis into ~2 minutes to find the right spot to shoot and then grabbing the briefcase.
good thread

How to not suck at melee? Everytime I try to close the distance I just get sniped or end up losing way too much HP or run out of energy from blocking.

Cloak, run quickly towards them to not lose too much energy, if patrol, stand between them so you have the time to cut both before they react, cloak again so their friends don't gun you down.
Basically lots of cloaking just meters away from an enemy, also consider dual wielding, could give you the option to snipe someone further away while cutting some bloke in front of you immediately after (but you still need cloak)
>>376400534
Buff your energy production and capacity so running and blocking doesn't fuck you.
Also take the vitality converter ASAP.
Combined with alchemy or a medkit it is unlimited energy.
