For the character creation screen, select 3 MetaStreum and hammer the fusion button until you get all green. Get the .444 Bear Killer ASAP, it's your workhorse for the most of the game. The cyberlegs are the single best and most hilarious upgrade, and research the medkit first.

Difficulty can also be reduced, as with respawn amounts.

How should I build my guy if I want to primarily hit people with the Damocles.

Endurance, Agility, Strength, maybe Medicine
Legs and Adrenaline pumper, Arms and Muscle for more Strength, maybe the cyber armored X
With only the Damocles and Medkit you won't have too large of a load (25% malus, 12 from damo and 13 medkit iirc), so you can go with heavy armor without suffering too much

Run up on a nigga with high level legs, cyberjump from grenades, and block with the damocles as you approach a guy shooting at you

I think co-op is something you should do after getting at least 1 of the gates. When I played co-op with /v/ it was afuckig mess with it taking like 30 tries to clear the first mission since someone kept fucking killing the mentor. When we actually got our shit together, it was fun just sprinting around with a bunch of OP dudes and showing them secrets like the metastreum in the glowing hallway and locking them in there.

That's solely because you will be unable to keep up with all the people who play super high level characters who are doing everything and getting most of the kills.

The most fun I ever had was when I got someone who never played before to give the game a try, unfortunately we couldn't play on difficulties that too hard because there were only 2 of us and we had new characters, but the slow slog through the constantly respawning enemies, but we still got enough kills to make enough brouzouf. Unfortunately he only played again for another two sessions until hating it.

Most of the co op servers are not indicative of a geniunely enjoyable co-op experience, and rather a rushing shitfest dedicated to the highest level who decides to "show off" by doing everything.

Which would also make you think, if you are a high enough level to simply do everything on your own and are actively trying to do so without any regards to people you could be operating with, why are you not just playing single player?
