This raises an interesting question I've never really thought about before.

What happens to stolen goods that have been resold legally? For example if I bought a pre-owned game from GameStop (let's say an incredibly rare retro game), and the next day it's uncovered that the guy who traded it in stole it from a collectors house earlier that morning. Obviously the thief gets into trouble, but what happens to me? Am I forced to give up the property that I purchased legally? If tbe item can't be replaced (eg there's only one copy of this game in this condition) it can't be returned to original owner without also forcibly taking something from me.
