The only issues I've ever had in-game has been shitty gameplay, shitty writing, shitty voice acting, and so on, but the only real issue there is the gameplay. Outside of games themselves I just hate the inconsistent and baseless rhetoric. Games are sexist and exclusionary, 'gamers' are misogynist, but half of vidya consumers are female, all that shit. It bothers me that people can blatantly lie and people will unquestioningly believe those lies and that any disagreement or even mere doubt is treated as an attack. I like female protagonists, but I hate ones that are emotional or showboats. They distract so much from the gameplay and pacing of the game just so they can cry about their feelings, or make cringeworthy snarky one-liners, or talk about how empowered they are. Take these for example:

It's good because she was a good character without having to say "hey, I have a vagina btw." A lot of people didn't even know right away that Samus was a female, so the reveal that she is, whether it's by helmet reveal or her taking off her armor, is welcomed. It's much better than how people try to advertise a game with a female protagonist as a major thing, and it just turns into the same "I'm a strong independent woman that don't need no man" cliche that you see everywhere.

It's sad because Samus is fine as a female protagonist anyways, and people want to ignore her so that people don't have an example of a good female protagonist so people can say there are no good ones, also ignoring other characters.
