i barely remember anything of the 'story' of the game. well i remember ancient aliens and the shitty abstergo stuff.

some of the characters were memorable. most of them were forgettable, like the only ones i remember are blackbeard (barely remember how he was relevant to edward other than doing a mission with him) and the woman dressed as a man, i liked the voice acting for her. desu if you can't make blackbeard an interesting character then you're a fucking failure as a writer so it was a bit easy for them to make him good.

i felt like, as is the case with all ass creed games, the interactions between characters were severely lacking, and other than going "hey look it's that guy from history!" it didn't accomplish much. when i saw that ending i could only remember 3 of them.

I didn't cry, but when the bunker gets invaded in Nier: Automata and the machines take over 21o and 6o and start talking mocking you was pretty depressing. Especially since even if you get Ending E, you know they aren't coming back in no way shape or form, they are dead. On top of that, even if you count ending E as the truth and good ending, the rebuilt 2b, 9s, and A2 aren't "our" 2b, 9s, and A2. Just models with their memories. Our 2b died when the copied city sprung, for instance.

Tyrann was an asshole even before he was a shade, but he was AWAKE the whole 1000+ years.
Also, because his replicant data was destroyed he had no stake in anything and probably would have been better off killing himself. He's just so lonely and butthurt, and by the end of the game he at least cared about Kaine (and through Kaine, the rest of the team) enough that it caused him pain to think about.

The only truly unforgivable thing he's done is slap around Emil.

This fucking game. This game really got me fucking up as a kid. I remember playing through it and getting so attached to every little thing. My farm animals, pet dog and cat, just everything. It was kind of surreal to be growing up and have all of these villagers and people who may be had shallow personalities but we're none-the-less present to be coming and going as if you have no control. I guess that's what got me in this game, it was for the first time ever a game that really made me feel like I wasn't in control. I couldn't just get better at the game, because no matter what however good I got however much money I was able to make it was also temporary because eventually you die from old age and you can either close the book and be done with the experience or you can select"heaven" mode, where you could just replay most of the chapters of the game in an odd kind of discombobulated way that never transferred over to any other chapter. It felt dirty and weird playing the heaven mode and probably for the first time ever as a kid got me to begin next essentializing my life, the way things would be in the future for me and how ultimately in the end I have so little control.
