There isn't anything objectively wrong with a strong willed woman in video games or in any entertainment media for that matter. The problem with a lot of them though is that its a forced trait. I see a lot of women in media/entertainment who have their characters designed as a know all badass or some kind of indomitable heroine with no fault.

Its a lazy trope that reeks of Mary Sue shoe horning. The worst kind of female protagonist is the kind that cannot be defeated or has no weakness. It's boring, overdone and deserves to be eyerolled. Most of the characters that follow this trope are products of SJW inspired character design, which is why it's stereo-typically characterized as such.
