I do like me some aesthetics though. In terms of my favourite adventure or point and click it's probably down near Shivers or Kyrandia, in the 'decent but has issues' category

This is not an argument. The game is nothing like Twin Peaks, the style is nothing like Twin Peaks, the plot is nothing like Twin Peaks. No matter how "inspired by Twin Peaks" you believe it to be, or how many pop culture references exist in Life Is Strange there of, as a whole, the game is about as close to Twin Peaks as it is to Twilight or Mario.

I liked it a lot, especially for one of the most widely criticised aspects of the game: the fact that nothing you do can make things up.

It's the Butterfly effect, people. If you actually take the whole game as a godlike entity or whatever gave Max her power just so she could spend a week with her friend as a farewell gift it makes much more sense. It's brutal, yet beautiful at the same time. Strange, as life is.
