The flashback said "5 years earlier" and in the comic she get her ass whooped by Cassie at around the 15 year mark. I think it sort of implies that Frost joined the Lin Kuei soon after her defeat by Cassie in that underground MMA match. My theory is that the experience wounded her pride pretty deeply and she just attached herself to the Lin Kuei as a way to rebuild her confidence. She probably got a little too invested into it and channeled her shame/anger towards the Lin Kuei's enemies so when a member of their biggest rival clan happens to show up and they start making peace it sort of threatens her identity.

Well, it can be safe to assume Sub Zero murdered Kotal, Erron, and Ferra/Torr. Ermac flew away with Reptile. In Kittelsens version of the ending, Kotal cuts himself with his dagger, and proceeds to murder everything on sight as a blood god while Reptile turns everyone invisible and ermac just stays flying picking trees up and chucking them.

So where exactly was Fujin when all this shit was going down at the end? He should've been the one we play as the final chapter. It should take a god to put down a god, not some 24 year old kid.

Fantastic characters despite how the story treated them, i'm sure with the comic we can see what they're really about. They're pretty much guaranteed to return in the next game since none of them died, maybe we'll see something more focused on them sooner or later.
Even with the jobbing going on in the story, the Kotal rangers are all interesting looking gameplay-wise, i know i'll be playing them often.
