I like themrock's take on D'vorah. Really need to build my vidya image folder.
That picture wouldn't look as nice without that grain filter/chromatic aberration and abused depth of field blur. You can only polish a turd SO much.
She's a demon, she could look like anything.
anything that isn't disgusting art drawn by filthy gaijin ?
Salty artists/Drawfags shitting on people better than them and hipster art "experts" general.
Just fucking post art.
Got a lot of lammy from a thread from ages ago.
Guess I'll dump some of the good shinkawa's
Someone post that image that has a picture of Catwoman I think it was being all sexy or whatever like ops pic and then the second picture is a 3d recreation and it's all fucked up
THE GREATEST VIDYA BOXART EVER MADE
I really like it but it looks too much like Dirty Harry
Can't get it out of my head
You could just post pretty much any vanillaware game
3d program called maya
>Caring about anatomy
fabulousvampire says hi
The reason they're so boring is because he highlights the face in every single picture. He puts on this stupid fucking blur around everything except the face. It's stupid
his animu style has a lot of sameface going on, he needs to add some variation to that
his real life sketches and other art are great though
>there is no other C&C art that looks this good
Not a fan of his samefaces but I loves his shadings.
>Obelisks at the back of the base.
For what purpose?
The anatomy is not accurate, the perspective is way off. She has to be a fucking snake to look like that. Legs are way, way behind than they should be. Boring composition.
Stop talking about shit you don't understand.
d/ic/k here, theres space for improvisation and breaking the rules to get the desired effect for your image. You dont have to sabotage what you want to show just because the "rules say so". See cubism.
Other than that, the art is pure pleb trash, the chromatic aberation and grain is a really cheap trick to make the painfully boring image more 'popping'. If i had the means i'd strangle the cunt as it personaly offends me.
Third Strike era art is best Street Fighter art
I don't know who did it, does anyone here? It's fucking awesome
And that's the last one from The Void for now. Really love the concept art.
MMO fanart always makes me sad because the real game will never ever be as good
>by UDON entertainment
>udon in picture
Fuck, I want some fucking udon right now.
Udon is based
Stylization is a crutch that only bad artists lean on.
Her right leg should not be that long. If you focus on her feet it looks like she's sitting with her legs straight, only when you look up do you see that the legs are crossed.
>"muh anatomy" is just meaningless word people use to diminish an artist they don't like.
incase u don't have the larger one
Comic book industry is a bad example.
People make money off literal garbage there sometimes, there's no shortage of examples.
Videogame industry is just as bad.
Making money's not much of a gauge for how viable something is when some people play fast and loose with their pocket change.
That said, stylization is important but there's a divide between using it to make something proper visually enticing and using it to cover up a lack of technical skill.
Also I'm not that anon.
I'm a new anon.
Oh shit, I bailed on this thread because it looked like it was going to die. Then I see it in the catalog, and it turns out I got 3 replies.
Anyway, The anatomy is accurate. Not from /ic/, but I am an artist. I know what enough to know that post is completely possible. Maybe you should try it on your own and see for yourself. If you're not an inflexible whale, that is.
>Legs are way, way behind than they should be.
Maybe it appears that way to you, because of the depth of field blur the artist applied.
Says nothing about the anatomy. But you just threw it in there to try an add weight to your argument. You're just wrong.
>i'm an artist
do some red lines to prove your hypothesis and i'll believe you. as someone who isn't an artist the body looks like it is badly contorted and disjointed for her legs to come out the way they do.
Dudes. Seriously. Dude. Just do the pose yourself. Put you hip to the ground with your legs facing the same direction, and then prop your torso up with your elbows both planted.
Seriously, just do it. No redlines necessary. I just did it myself to make doubley sure it's possible. It's totally possible.
it isnt the issue of anatomy, its an exagerated camera lens effect. Doesnt matter if the artist indended it consciously or not but its within the space of consistent plausibility within the style. Its nitpicking.
The post process effects is whats the problem. You remove those and the image is boring bland and trash level. Try it on your own art. Leave cyan and red channels move them few pixels appart, add obnoxious noise effects to hide flaws such as poor lineart and youve got a popping image no matter how awfull it was before
Its a fucking hack work thats the worst offender. Do the following steps for any trash image and its ten times more 'artistic'.
The hips being a mile away is within the artists priority whats important for him in that image, just like the googly eyes and the alien face.
Heres a good example where the chromatic aberation is pretty subtle >>284544643
And heres where the artists are hiding behind it
Atleast thats how i see it.
Forgot the example.
Sure the artist cheat alot in general. But this is just "lens flare" effect all over again.
I see this a lot, is this meant to be a parody of some sort? I never understand what's going on
Thanks for the insight. But my only point of contention was the other anons saying the anatomy is inaccurate. I just hate when people automatically shout "ANATOMY", in their half-baked attempt to criticize a work.
Theres times when anatomy is a valid part to critique. And whois to say whats an accident and whats intended in the artists vision. He decides what his image is about. Afcourse that seems like it makes anything immune to critique, but when someone tries to depict something he's not very good at depicting, usually its visable like night and day. In this case a conversation with that person could reveal whats what, otherwise its just guesswork from both sides. Is it not intended, or is it intended. Though my guess taking in the account of the context of the image it is.
All i know is i fucking hate the obnoxious post processing bullshit. Ever since i browsed some cghub-like website and amongst all the fantastic concept art you had the most generic trash like the ops image posted. And then some more and more and more. (wouldnt be surprised it was the same guy). Lens flare 2.0 and i'd shank anyone who abuses it. Its just bad habits.
>Theres times when anatomy is a valid part to critique.
Yes, well do you think that's the case with OP's image? I don't.
I don't know what to make about that weird color trick. I can't really be mad at an artist utilizing their tools to their fullest potential, in order to create dynamic imagery. Even if it is a cheap trick, it's pretty good when it's done subtly.
Neither do i. Anime-like images of girls are all about vanity. Theres tons of images showing meshed up perspectives that are borderline impossible, showing tits and ass at the same time with glued two diffrent perspectives. And while that wouldnt fly in reality, it is intended. So it would be asanine to point out the obvious. ( though alot of amateur anime artists arive at the result by copying others without even realising whats going on, which is a shame)
I dont mind the tools used either, as i pointed out where its so subtle you cant tell, but yet still it gives the image very subtle vibrance and sharpness. But fuck me if less experienced people dont jump on the bandwagon so quickly and instead of sharpening their skils, theyre sharpening filters.
I shouldnt be butthurt about it, but i cant help it, it offends me personaly, like a shit game being shoved down my throat as the next best thing and if you dont conform to it, you're the wierdo.
OP's image isn't just an intended exaggeration. It's 100% possible in real life. Pic related is about the best I could find on quick notice. But you can see that it would only take her orienting her upper body more to her left in order to replicate the exact pose.
I get what you mean about trends being abused. It is disappointing seeing audiences being fooled by cheap tricks. I just can't work up the ire. But I typically don't care what other people are doing in general. I think of art as illusion anyway. So in my book, it doesn't matter how you fool the eye. So long as the trick works, then you've done what you set out to do. I just hate poor quality because I imagine how the trick will be exposed in time. I don't like bad tricks.
Well it's not a belief that is held universally. The point was that a lot of people misuse the term. The more it's misused, the less it means. Of course when it's used in regards to shad, then it's being used properly.
When retards can't see the difference between shad's work, and other works like OP, then it really hurts the credibility of the people using the word legitimately.
Oops. Forgot pic.
I was looking for some examples of extreme camera lens effects myself, just to show what could be done even in reality. But ultimately its not important as you said visual arts are about alot of things and confining it within what we think is probable would rid of alot of fantastic pieces that have been done. Thats an accurate example aswell. In my book it was never the anatomy as we dont actually see the spine thats being criticised, but convincing that you can extemefy the distances between two parts using particular lenses to get the effect, which is still silly and nitpicky to even bother as it would imply visual arts need to mimic photography.
Oh god that game is amazing. To bad when they made a second zombies ate my neighbors it was terrible. I don't really consider it a second game to it. It wasn't originally even supposed to be a second game, they just slapped the name on it.
What is this style called and where can I find more like this?
