In the end you kill the evil bastard that stole the prototype (this is important) time travel suit and bombed the lab with your waifu in it.
Once you planted a bullet in the back of his head, you travel back to the present (minus 30 or so seconds) and disable the bomb so you can save your waifu.
PROBLEM! The difference between your suit and the prototype is that your suit contains a AI that helps with navigation and preventing paradoxes, guess what you just created by disabling the bomb? And the suit forcefully timetravels... Is never explicitly said but looks like your waifu is doomed either way.

nope because Sony isn't going to allow crossplay on any of it's shit. Can't wait for Monster Hunter World to have a split community because I can't play with PS4 users when I pick up the PC port even though Street Fighter V was 100% okay with crossplay

The logic isn't flawless, but that's the general idea behind consoles.
