The only real romance you're getting involves two people that are dead in one episode. Really.
Andrew as a LI was dropped and after that he's basically Akko's muggle buddy and there Andrew's friend that was hitting up Lotte but she just wanted to be friends.
Andrew's most important role is actually to give some exposition on Diana from her childhood.

In the middle of the first cour a male character, Andrew, is introduced, throughout the cour it seems like they might push for a romance between him and Akko, the lead character. However in the second cour he's dropped like a fly and Trigger have stated that while there were plans for him they then decided to drop those plans, so there's no het romance from him.

There's also a minor character called Frank who expresses interest in dating Lotte in one episode, she says no because she doesn't know him well. He is then non-existant from the rest of the season.

That was my first post in the new thread actually. I'm dropping it though, before this thread gets more shitposting than it already has. Shame.

I think LWA is flawed, but it was flawed from the start. The problems with the first cour are the same problems as in the second cour, the storytelling is too repetitive and redundant. Feels like they had a bunch of samey "Akko learns via a mystical force she needs to work hard to gi gud" in the first cour while the second cour wasted too much time on Chariot and Croix doing literally nothing. Episodes 15 and 21 aren't bad by themselves, but they are redundant and don't bring anything that the other didn't. I still love the show and think it got a lot of things right; I'd definitely watch a second season.

I'm really glad the fanfic community is so active for LWA. There are some great oneshots and stories out there, and lots of interested readers (even better, interested readers who like, comment/review, etc).

I hope it stays like this for a while. The only thing it needs now is more branching off into other couples as the center of a story. Diakko and Croix/Chariot are just about the only ones out there. I want to see different ships too.

There are good Diakko fics, the problem is that some authors basically just use Akko and Diana as stand-in for the general idea of the "rivals-to-lovers aka: red/blue" ship instead of actually bothering to characterize them according to the TV anime. People are afraid to writing Akko dumb enough, desu.

For spics fics, here are 3 big ones: the one that has a love triangle with Akko, Ursula and Diana and an evil spirit power makes them all act like massive bitches, the one that is a soap opera love triangle between Andrew, Akko and Diana and El Reloj del Dragon del Tiempo. The first 2 are fucking telenovelas but the last one is actually pretty good and has a perfectly characterized Diana.

I would KILL to see a scene where Chariot and Croix kiss each other but the view is conveniently and tastefully obscured by something in the foreground. Maybe leave it up for the audience to decide whether or not it was on the cheek or lips.

I know a kiss isn't necessarily subtle but still... Those two only had each other during their Luna Nova days. Croix was too scary to approach and viewed as a straight geek, and Chariot was so full of energy and optimism that it probably annoyed everyone around her, except for Croix. Somehow the two found each other and clicked.
