See I'm trying/half-trying to get back into the fanfics. Almost everything I'm following is dead though and I don't have the motivation to pick up the few that update after a year or months of silence. It's been so long I barely remember what happened and knowing the next update will probably not even come kills any desire to get back into the story. I've already dropped a few. I dropped Wayfaring Stranger because of the chapter length, despite being really into it, but it seems like that's dead now too. Out of the close hundred stories I've followed since the movie came out, less than a third finished and that's counting one shots. Honestly I don't think anything survived 2016, except Anywhere Her Heart May Lead, which I dropped because I was already losing interest in that story. A Snowflake in Spring updated recently, but let's not pretend that will ever go anywhere.

I'm not sure, because it was sort of vague. I also thought that was actually what happened, and Anna seemed to confirm it in the scene where she told Elsa about transferring. And in the last scene Anna starts off seeming to continue that sentiment, with stuff like "I just need to know that I'm finally getting the big sister I always wanted", and says "Good." when Elsa claims she's not in love anymore. but then Anna says she's just as fucked up and -wants- Elsa to be a big sister but misses either feeling wanted, or feeling wanted by Elsa (she isn't sure which). And they both agree it probably wouldn't work but Anna ends up kissing Elsa's neck and there's a lot of possibly's and maybes. So somewhat unclear.

It's not the vagueness itself that bothered me. I'm fine with uncertainty at the end of an angsty fic about incest. It was just odd to make the primary source of that uncertainty--at the conclusion of the story--not knowing whether or not the primary romantic relationship is unrequited.

It's like if Cast Away had ended with him building a raft struggling with deciding whether or not to get on it and then cut to black, rather than getting back home and ending up at a crossroads.
Or like if Kill Bill had ended right as the Bride and Bill started fighting so you never know if she actually killed him, rather than ending with her and her daughter together facing the uncertainty of the future with the revenge plot (mostly) done.
